Not getting items taken from you in dead money.

I am on my second playthrough and am now going to do the dead money DLC

 

Problem is, they take your weapons, and NOBODY parts me from my precious "A light in shining darkness" handgun! (Reason why i love it so much: http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/41878)

 

 

I'm just trying to think on how i could.... "Smuggle it in". I was thinking of putting my gun in my presidential suite, then when i have started dead money, i COC to the presidential suite, then COC back to dead money. But that might break immersion.... Or maybe i could COC to dead money location first, drop the gun there, then COC back to the Mojave, then start the DLC and voilla! my gun will be sitting right there on the ground patiently waiting for me....

 

So what do you suggest, hmm? I hate it when my favourite weapons are parted from me...

If you have the FalloutNVCheatTerminal ALL DLC Added installed it lets you access your items through it's menu while playing dead money

Another route, (if for some reason you're trying to rack up those ridiculous achievements and don't want to use the consol) is to have a non-vanilla companion with you. The game only objects to having vanilla companions along, so a non-vanilla can be given the equipment you want to "carry" and show up with you in the DLC areas. (Tested with Willow Willow in both Dead Money and Honest Hearts.)
