Hello i am kinda new, been lurking around and love mods. Since you say you are new to modding i wonder if you could make a mod where the weapons of skyrim can get worn out or damaged. Really like that system from new vegas and fallout 3 for immersion. For armor and clothes would be awesome too. One thing that the game felt like it was missing to me was perks too, i know skyrim is not fallout but perks. I have looked into the modding tools and kinda tried around, found most things annoying and hard to use or seemed glitchy. If you wanna team up or something I would gladly try to help make mods or learn, kinda want to learn mod making but lack the drive and distracted most of the time, also got a few physical injuries. If you want someone to discuss mods and modding functions since we are both newbs add me or contact.

Durability does seem interesting but my skills are very low for games like skyrim. I still have a great deal to learn before I even do something as simple as editing a few textures or creating pretty armors. This is also compounded by the fact that I don't have much free time to dedicate to modding due to ongoing events in my life. It might be worth putting in the mod requests or mod discussion section in skyrim side of the forum though.

On a more personal note, as much as I like immersion, I tend to avoid mods that increase difficulty with rare exceptions. So if I ever attempt to make a durability mod, it would be at most to test if my skill is at that level yet rather than personal use. Life is hard enough, I like my games to make me feel powerful and let me break from reality for a while.

Finally, as far as I know there already are some durability mods in the works. I recommend checking out the youtuber MxR. he does weekly presentations on various skyrim mods (more than 200 episodes out) and I recall him mentioning a durability mod. His videos are what got me into Skyrim modding to begin with. But like I said, my skills are extremely outdated. Even installing other people's mods was a trial for me just a few weeks ago. Things are very different from the days I modded and a lot of the technical terminology is beyond me so learning has been slow (as I need google every five minutes). I may have said prior, computers in general are not really my strong suit. Most of my years of study were spent elsewhere, so for now I'd recommend scouting out a different mod maker or seeing if the mod you want already exists in some form.
