Ising20
My most memorable scene is in the recent game which i started a few days ago.I fast travelled to the Fairfax Ruins as i have the mod allowing me a home there and jumped right in to a really vicious gun fight between a group of BOS Outcasts and at least a dozen Raiders. It was a really what the hell moment.Luckily i had killed a raider close to the Springvale School a short while before and looted his cold dead corpse to get a missile launcher which i used in Fairfax to take out the majority of the raiders who were in the back alley all bunched up and the rest i then machine gunned before finishing off the one in the front ruined house along with the turret. I also have the ghoul outbreak mod but i have had to unistall this as i feel i am too low a level character at the moment and will wait till later as i did play a previous game and got swamped twice again in Fairfax Ruins when a huge group of them surrounded the car i was as standing on and just outside when i was standing on a large mound of rubble. MichikoUnknownFox
Haha yeah that Ghoul outbreak mod is crazy. I once had a mod that added more wastelanders that wander around, and mixed that with MMM's increased spawns. It was hilarious to see all kinds of combat so far away, as the wastelanders ran into Raiders, Deathclaws, etc., practically everywhere. That was pretty epic for me, because I'm watching from a safe distance like a small group of 4 or 5 wastelanders try to beat a Deathclaw with their weak weapons on one side, then on another side, they were running away from a large pack of Raiders. It felt like the wasteland was more chaotic and dangerous in a way, but at the same time it made it safer because there was more fodder to draw enemy attention away from me, which is why I had to uninstall the mod eventually. Kilo68
My most epic battle so far was when I left my house at "The Retreat",I had just left the place to go and do some of the main quest when I got ambushed by 20+ raiders with R91's 10mm smg's,frags and sledgehammers. It was complete chaos as there was only 1 pillar to hide behind and I only had 2 followers with me.I also didn't have any power armor for any of us,but luckily my rifle has a rather high fire rate with which to gun them down.I'm using MMM increased respawns and the RCA mod so the raiders are a lot tougher that normal, which contributed to the hectic nature of the battle and turned the simple affair of "Form a gun-line and open fire" into "Fall back and regroup". Flipout6
I had one yesterday where a super mutant Overlord was chasing a mole rat with a sledgehammer.I was shooting it while the mole rat managed to dodge every single blow, and was only hurt at all because Star Paladin Cross shot it with a laser pistol... once. I killed the overlord, and then executed the mole rat. Another one was when I got the 3rd rank of the Iron Fist perk, and cleared out vault 87 by beating super mutant masters to death with my bare hands. 7thsealord
I was ..... 'cleaning house' in Evergreen Mills. Gotten to the underground entertainment area at the back. Those of you who have visited there will recall a steep slope to a bar area, where a couple of Raiders (and a few Raider girls) are to be found. At the end of battle, one Raider had slumped face down over the bar, right in the birthday cake that happened to be sitting there. As bizarre happenings go, it isn't much - but it was funny as hell to me.
JkKILER
Well, I love the zombie apocolypse mod, so using that makes the wasteland a very dangerous place. Literally, if you havent used this before, there are zombies everywhere! So i was walking to the Mini Hideout mod in springvale (I like using it as a main base) i noticed one zombie standing by the enterance. Nothing too bad i though. So with a simple shot from my scoped hunting rifle, the zombie bit the dust. That shot attracted 2 other zombies. Still not so bad so i quickly dispatched them. This is where *Poop* hit the fan. Zombies rushed in everywhere around me left right even back, so i couldnt run to Megaton. I also couldnt reach the bunker door. So the only option for me was to run into one of the burned out houses in springvale. I pulled out my M16 auto at this point while running backwards twords the old house, shooting rapidly and randomly into the crowd of zombies (A good 40 strong) Getting some awesome headshots and slowing down time with Bullet TIme mod from FWE. They were rapidly gaining on me now though. I had just made it into the house when i was "Clawed" a few times in the back by the mob. I though that they couldnt enter the tiny burned out house and that i was safe. Wrong. The mob found it's way in through the front door. I panicked and acidentally hit the hotkey for my landmines. A very nice stroke of luck! I quickly chucked one in front of the first zombie right as he went for a killing blow. BOOM 20 zombie bodies fly and i mean FLY into the air. Slowing down time and watching as they flew away was entertaining. At this point there were only a few left. I quickly finished them off. The aftermath was quite impressive. There were piles of zombie bodies in the street facing the house and blood and gore on the street and splattering the old shutters on the house. I then limped back to my Mini Hideout where i took a nice long nap! Well character, you know what i mean! Edited July 28, 2012 by JkKILER
7thsealord
Playing the Anchorage sim, and get to the Chimera Depot. Being a sensible person, I am quite happy for Sgt. Montgomery to do a lot of the fighting (he slacks off a bit later, but early on he is amazing). That second Chimera gives him some trouble, so I am helping - popping out from around the corner and VATSing whatever I can see on the thing before ducking back. Not making a lot of headway, I decide to switch to the Gauss Rifle. Pop out. Chimera is way too close. VATS the Radar Array (still looks healthy, but best hit odds at that point). BOOM! The tank fireballs right there in front of me. Fills the entire screen. Bits of tank fly in all directions. I'm unharmed. Sgt Montgomery takes a short flight, before getting up and rejoining me. Ising20
The best combat scene for me had to be one i played on my next to present last attempt with the game.Basically i had the Talon Camps mod installed and on my way to Arefu i found one which is close to the picnic ground/caravan site so i sneaked around and killed three mercs before going in the caravan and then using a stealth boy, dropping two grenades on another merc who was nosing around close by and then waiting a short while and popping a few more grenades through the broken roof and hearing loud explosions and xp points racking up while the red caution indicator was on and the mercs are going who's there, who's there several times.
