KresoX
"The best" as in:- custom voice (not "borrowing" vanilla voice), number of lines, chatter, contextual comments depending on situation or location etc.- most features (e.g. crouching, taking out weapon when player does, sleeping/relaxing scheduled/when told, able to change clothes, able to change weapons etc.) I'm not referring so much to physical appearance or details such as number of apparels or hairstyles, though it does play a certain role, of course. The thing is that, what I guess (I repeat: I guess) most people who played FO3 _after_ FNV noticed, that FO3's companions are WAY simpler than FNV's. In other words, Delilah, Niner or Vanessa (the New Vegas one) are much more advanced than anything I've seen in FO3 so far. The similar goes for vanilla companions. Now, I do realize that FO3 is an older game and thus has its limitations, but where does this huge difference in modder-created companions come from? I can put it in a purely opportunistic way too; I'm currently playing with RicherHK's Brisa Almodovar - is there a better companion than her, and why? :-) Edited July 31, 2018 by KresoX

blackrat99
There are hardly any voiced companions that don't use vanilla voices. There are some that are part of a larger mod, like Malibu from Quo Vagis, who you can adventure with for a time. Or Amanda from Ties That Bind. But these are not straightforward companions. Brisa has more features than any other companion from my experience (though I haven't played Ties That Bind). But 'better' is subjective. I like some of Brisa's features but I also find her a bit annoying. Other good companions I've tried: Brianna and Lucy West - similar, have most of the standard features (but no proper Wait (guard) command) plus a small quest. Kelsey and Jessi - a few extra features, some like Brisa's, where you can change outfits. More personality. The Gurlz - Need SCC. They are different. They may rival Brisa for features but it's done in a unique way. They also have some obscure quests, but they are quite overpowered - maybe you can adjust that but I forget. askfor
The reason Fallout 3 has more vanilla voiced companions is that there are much more of useful vanilla voice lines in original game. One just needs to extract them. It is much harder to find useful ones in FNV, I did it though, and created "Jill, the Dependable Companion". However, it took me a long time to find suitable voiced lines. People, probably, started voicing their mods, out of necessity, because original game did not provide useful voice clips. Later they did it for fun. Personally, I like to mod alone and I'd never want to work with voice actor,
