Shadowcran
Hello. As you know, some mods are not what people would consider 'good' mods. I'm not referring to what they offer, but instead they cause problems with even the best of computers. Whenever I experience problems I go through the list of mods I've recently installed. That's usually the answer when a person asks this question on the forums. However, some mods take a little while before imposing their particular brand of problem. What is needed is a comprehensive list of mods that cause these sorts of problems. With this, a player who suddenly has a crash, conflict, or whatever can consult this list of mods and check to see if they have these particular ones downloaded. This beats the other process of going through all mods painstakingly one at a time. Yes, I know of downloads that can help you go through the mods, but this is still consuming time better spent on playing the game. This list should include: 1- name of the mod2- problems the mod is causing3- possible solutions a person has found(to those on the list)4- number of players complaining of the particular mod(for example: Mod 'x' has had 'x' complaints) This way we know just how much a risk downloading the mod is in the first place. Another benefit to this is that the person who created the mod that showed up on this list can go back through it and fix it. OR, a person who has a lot more experience with mod designing can fix it, thus earning kudos for doing so.(Their should be a way to auto earn some for doing an altruistic task like this) Another result of this type of list could/should be that these particular mods can be 'flagged' with a warning type icon that they may be risky to download. Right now, I will personally start compiling a list of these mods on my own computer in the hopes this list can be an officially pinned addition to the forums. To contact me about potential mod problems or ideas for implementing this email me at [email protected] Please use this template. Just copy and paste. nosisab
Name of mod: LD Damage TextProblem caused: Game won't load at allPotential solution(if any): noneNow I'm curious.... What possibly does a mod with such a name? maybe it is just doing what it says it does :)
nosisab
This idea is something that can be implemented and is useful indeed. But shall be done with moderation and responsibility. There is already too much damage being done to mods from wrong premises. Yet there are mods that actually have the potential to damage savegames and corrupt data, and so must be blacklisted until fixed (where possible). Conflicting issues leads to another kind of judgment and mustn't be placed in the category of "faulty" or "bad". But someway such listing may contribute to help knowing the conflicting mods and help choice.
Shadowcran
Hmmm. Maybe I should add what a mod does to the template? This one shows damage you've dealt out in numbers, instead of relying on the curved 'bar'. On some boss creatures, especially mods, I've no idea if I'm damaging them at all for a good 20 swings. I don't know that mod, haven't downloaded and verified the script. But based on my experience: or this script is all messed up or it's simple and doesn't have the potential to prevent the game loading. It's OBSE dependent being tried without it? such could really be an issue and (if is the case) the modder should have stated the dependence clearly in the mod description. herosinger
Name of mod: LD Damage TextProblem caused: Game won't load at allPotential solution(if any): none From the comment thread: game couln´t start since you missed the "Adrenaline Locational Masterfile.esm" !! (as shown in Wrye Bash)...so bring it on ! "A mini-mod dependent on Locational Damage"If you do not have my Locational Damage mod, then this will not run. There is only one sentence in the description, even if it is a bit lengthy. Please read it. I'll assume, then, that you're using Locational Damage?
