sodaplay.com
I would just like to hear from all of the mods how your job has been since you have been on this site.
Peregrine
Great fun. Nothing beats the satisfying feeling of banning someone. Well, the strikes and the beautiful hatred from the trolls is up there in goodness. And then there's the creative fun you can have with the edit button... *evil laugh* BOW BEFORE MY WRATH, MORTAL! Shakkara
Bah, I've been a mod of two forums (still am at one) and a game master of an Ultima Online server. I never had to punish anyone, and I hope I never will. Helping people out and making good use of your 'power' is much more rewarding.

ohGr
i used to be a mod last year (february) at a dodgy Team Fortress forum (mod for half life, damn fun) and there were too many 10 year olds speaking in 1337, and too many idiots to be blunt. i banned about 30 people on those forums, its good for me to hear their not around anymore. Switch
Yeah it's been good :P getting rid of the trouble makers and helping out the community is quite rewarding (when the few people announce that they actually appreciate what you're doing instead of saying "OMG u r teh nazi u stric evil"), but in the end you do get tired of dealing with the same type of generic lamer over and over again (hence my lack of moderating as of late) :P
Malchik
Most of the time it's fine. I don't get bothered by much. Those who keep breaking the rules despite polite requests not to eventually earn my wrath and those who seem to forget that anyone might be reading these forums and don't consider the consequences. Otherwise.... Life's too short to let impatience raise the blood-pressure!
Stormscape
And that's why when on forums I used to be mods at, before they shut down, I would take no crap. My list of banned or suspended people grew by 5 everyday. I had 500 by the end of summer. That's when most bans wore off and it went down to 200. :D And my trademark was a picture of a Magic: the gathering card.... lemme find it...http://sales.starcitygames.com/cardscans/MAGMIR/MAGMIR144.jpg Other the months it beame known as "The Hammer of Boogernuts" or "Stormy's Iron Fist" or a very large vareity fo things. The most common was "The Hammer of Bannation" edit: How dare you dishonor a great card with that terrible new design!-Peregrine
Xionith
I applied to be a mod on this one forum. (they said you might get a reply back in a month). So about a week later I got banned for impersonating someone or something like that... I was unbanned just a little while ago, except it's been about a year since I applied, and I haven't gotten a reply. And I have also realized that this is a disgrace to a real forum such as this... [no offense to anyone who likes the place the first link takes you too.] So guess i can't say anything about what it's like to be a mod. I can just wonder...
