Lanceor
I'm hoping that someone could make four "statues" for me - one Alessian soldier and three Nedic soldiers (the three Nedes are identical except for the hair colour, so basically they're one statue.) DaMage wrote a tutorial on how to do this, but after many attempts, I have to accept that it's beyond my current level of skill. The statues only have to be static with a basic collision mesh and no animations. The only difference from DaMage's tutorial is that they retain their original textures instead of having a stone texture. Anyway, here's what the statues are going to be used for: http://tesalliance.org/forums/uploads/1320335672/med_gallery_5441_228_52965.jpg http://tesalliance.org/forums/uploads/1320335672/med_gallery_5441_228_3454.jpg (Click for bigger versions.) This represents the build up of the Alessian and Nedic army led by Morihaus as they are about to attack White Gold Tower in 1E 243. The problem with using real NPCs is that they kill framerates (even when their AI is turned off). Replacing them with high poly statics sorted out the framerate problems instantly, so therefore, I'd like to replace the NPCs with statics. I've uploaded the two sets of armour here and here. The password is "nexus" (without the quotes). I'd be eternally grateful to anybody who is able to assist. :)
ub3rman123
I've done this before, and it worked out pretty well. I'll give it a try. I don't know exactly how to add in hair and eyes, though. They seem to work differently from other meshes. Do they need to be in any particular poses or just stand there?
Lanceor
Thanks so much for offering to give it a shot! Just the default standing idle pose is all that I need. :)
ub3rman123
Is there intended to be shoes for the Nedic soldiers? None included in the download. I can use vanilla footgear if you want. Edit: Alessian soldier is done. Manually sticking eyeballs into someone's head has to be one of the creepier things I've done. http://i1023.photobucket.com/albums/af356/ub3rman123/ALS1.jpg
Lanceor
That soldier looks great! Thanks! Ah yes, the boots - forgot about that. The Nede soldiers use the vanilla fur boots. :) I should also mention that the Nede's hairstyle is called "medium length" in the CS and I've set them to very short (0.0 on a scale from 0 to 1). If I guess correctly, I can simply swap different textures for the different hair colours. Just in case you need them, the colours are what you'd expect from Nedes: blonde, brown and redhead. ub3rman123
http://www.mediafire.com/?v9k544b2jd47wa2 Not too sure about how the hair will work, last time I messed with it like this it stayed fluorescent blue. I ended up making everyone either bald or with a hat. Might find a wig that works instead.
Lanceor
Thanks for that - that's great stuff. :) The blue hair seems to be caused by the vertex colours... nothing that should be too hard for me to fix. ;)
