MetsaOfTuesday Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 So recently i've been having an issue where SKSE has been downloading incorrectly and mods that rely on it cannot function, kinda crippling my game. I have since done my best to 100% completely un-install all skyrim mods as well as NMM and Skyrim itself multiple times and re-installing, only to have SKSE re-download an still not work. Is there a chance that it is re-downloading incorrectly, and if so how can I return it to its normal state? I've tried downloading SKSE through Steam, through an installer, and manually, and the same result occurs each time. Would appreciate any insight.
HeyYou Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 Are you getting it from the source? (sliverlock.org?) If not, get it there. Are you getting an error when you try to run it? Could you be a bit more specific on 'doesn't work'? Which skyrim? Legendary? Or SE?
MetsaOfTuesday Posted August 13, 2018 Author Posted August 13, 2018 Hey, thanks for responding. So I'm using Skyrim with all DLC, and i have been downloading SKSE from silverlock. I get this message when i try to download it.

HeyYou Posted August 13, 2018 Posted August 13, 2018 Installer? You only need like three files, (four if you run the CK).. they should be in your skyrim directory. Start the game by double clicking skse_loader.exe. I have no clue what the skyui error is about..... unless you have the game installed in some sub-directory of the Program Files directory. That upsets Windows. :)
MetsaOfTuesday Posted August 14, 2018 Author Posted August 14, 2018 Yeah i'm really kinda frustrated at this point. I'm pretty s#*! at diagnosing problems like this, and its essentially crippling my game. This is what my Skyrim folder looks like, maybe there is a hint as to the problem here? I don't really know, but I hope someone can help me fix it eventually.
HeyYou Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 That is correct. You should be able to start the game with the skse_loader, and it should work.....
TheGreatFalro Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 The SkyUI installation error is unrelated to SKSE. Follow these instructions:Open Nexus Mod manager as an admin (right click, run as admin), hit the cog wheels in between the folders and the lightbulb, make sure the top three options in the first tab are all checked (Shell Extensions, NXM URLS, and FOMODYou will need to restart NMM afterwards.
