Halororor
i honestly wasnt a fan of this game ever being Ported to PC. i was highly pissed off the Petition worked. i hate seeing cry babies get their way. That is quite honestly the dumbest thing I've heard all day. We're crybabies for asking to play a game on the platform of our choice? You need to get your head checked. You need to get your head checked. my comment has already been altered long before you posted this. i was in a personally bad mood and it showed in that post. as such i have changed it to reflect a better mood and am choosing to no longer discuss the former original now deleted/altered post. Halororor
Regardless of your mood, it's still a very petty comment to make, indicating that you don't want other people to have fun simply because you don't want them to. Either way, I'll drop it, seeing as you did edit the post.

I was worried when the devs said that performance was bad in the port so far, but if those are the required specs I don't think many gamers will have a problem running it. I think they might mean that your pc must support headsets, btw. I doubt they'd make owning a headset actually required since they deliberately removed headset support from the Souls games before, to increase immersion and to avoid l33tspeak. I happen to have a mic, but I don't normally use it. There's no reason to subject everyone online to constant aggrotech playing in the background, lol... Rennn
I found this quote about the headset 'requirement'. :) Steam also says "multiplayer requires microphone headset support," but that isn't true, Namco Bandai tells Eurogamer. Prepare to Die Edition will not support in-game chat at all, it turns out. I prefer this actually. I don't want to listen to someone blasting music as their mom yells in the background. That would destroy the atmosphere and the lonely, hopeless vibes. Edited June 23, 2012 by Rennn

Aegrus
Really looking forward to this game. I bought Dark Souls for the PS3, played about 1/3 of the way through it, and then quit when I heard that a pc version might be made. I quit because literally the only thing that stopped Dark Souls from being a perfect game, in my opinion, was the framerate. It got down to about 10 for me, notably in Blight Town. So if there was a chance that I'd eventually be able to play Dark Souls with a more stable frame rate, I didn't want to spoil any more surprises. I was overjoyed and stunned when I heard that the petition had worked. I never expected that. When I signed the petition, I wasn't expecting a good port. This is the first time in history that a gaming petition has worked, as far as I know. And it wasn't a huge company with money to burn (like EA) that listened to the fans and took a chance, it was little From Software- a minute developer that almost didn't even release Demon's Souls outside of Japan, and has never even made a pc game before. Their games have never sold very well, but I've always found them fun and original, so I'm glad they finally have some commercial success. All I wanted out of it was Dark Souls on the pc was a higher frame rate, and that seems to be what I'll be getting. (Dark Souls was capped at 30 on consoles as well, but it got much lower in some places.) Its graphics are already good, and it already has no load times after the main menu. All in all, impressive given the low system requirements. From Software must be using some fel form of black magic to optimize Dark Souls so well. As said, I already bought Dark Souls, but I'll be buying it again for the pc the day it releases. (Provided it isn't broken, buggy, and unplayable.) I'm not a fan of GFWL, but I'll live with it if it means I can play Dark Souls on the pc. Edited June 24, 2012 by Aegrus
Rennn
Here's an interesting tidbit that I found recently:King's Field (the original, which only released for the PS1 in Japan) was the first game in the spiritual succession of games to include Black Knights. It also included a moonlight blade. I guess FROM likes easter eggs, lol. As another interesting fact, King's Field for the PS1 now sells for $120 new on Amazon, or $6 used. There's a bit of a noticeable difference there. Edited June 24, 2012 by Rennn

Why someone would want more then 50$ for 10+ year old data is beyond me.
