LadyHonor
My heatsink fan has stopped working and I need to replace it. How do I know what kind I need to work with my stuff? I'm not that hardware literate soooo...honestly it looks cheap and I wonder if it could be replaced with a better one or does it have to be the same kind that's already there? HeyYou
Depends on what processor you have. Find that out, then go to someplace like newegg, and check out heatsinks/fans for that particular processor. They are inexpensive enough, that upgrading to something better than what you have is most certainly a good idea. :D

markdunck
Oh and buy some Thermal Paste IF you are changing fans you will definitely need new thermal paste and it does not have to be the most expensive patse either as between most the cooling difference is sooo minimal. Watch some youtube videos on applying it I spread mine but you will need to remove the older paste as well.
