urbanfog
Hello, I have a huge problem with Fallout NV.I was using FNVedit to make a patch for some mods that i have installed. While I was finishing the i closed the program and it asked me what i wnted to save (I was in a rush) and i forgot to un check the vanilla game master files .esm´s and I edited some values in those. So, now every time i try to start tha game in any way it crashes at the begining. I unistalled all my mods, tried and it crashed, the i unloaded the DLCs to see in only the fallout Nv will work but nothing it keeps crashing. I tried to use the FNVedit tool to undo the changes but it says that there is nothing that has to be changed. Also i tried to start the game with the patch but i guess its a messi patch (Got to fix it). :wallbash: Any way if some one can upload a patch with the original values of the vanilla game .esm and the dlc esm. (not old world blues) I will be relief. Thanks.
Dudeman325
I'm not sure if that's legal. Your best bet would be a total reinstall.
Cyberlazy
Uh, How on earth would we know what 'original values' you are talking about? we would have to upload the entire original file (Illegal) Second, How on earth did you edit FalloutNV.esm? Fnvedit outright refuses to let me edit any record in that file. not even an option to alter, let alone save. Third: Just reinstall. Forth: I don't think fnvedit can save falloutnv.esm/dlc .esm correctly and likely totally corrupted the file in the process. A patch is not going to fix it. Just reinstall. JimboUK
You can delete those files you messed up and then get Steam to verify the game, it will download replacements.
Quetzlsacatanango
When you make a change in fnvedit, it automatically backs up the file. So just delete your broken esms, find the backups in your data folder (they will be named with the scheme falloutnv.esm.backup.(date)), and rename them to falloutnv.esm, etc.
