I cant find Fallout4Custom.ini

I just searched it too. In here and nothing. Going through steam talk about it was a headache. When it said modding was easy that must have been a joke. This is the first step into modding on a pinned post in the steam discussion page for fallout4. I would have thought it would have been more detailed. I'm trying to do this all right this time so I don't have any more hick ups.

you need to create the Fallout4Custom.ini file

it is not created by fallout by default, because as the custom would suggest, it is created via user input. as in your custom copy of the fallout 4 prefs and standard fallout 4.ini files in 1 file

with that said you need to create it here: C:\Users\your computer name\Documents\My Games\Fallout4

open fallout4.ini delete everything, click on Save As call it Fallout4Custom.ini, then click on Cancel when it says if you want to save the changes to the Fallout4.ini file

Now open Fallout4Custom: and add this below

[Archive]
sResourceDataDirsFinal=
bInvalidateOlderFiles=1
now fallout 4 modding is enabled.
Happy Modding
