andis7
Sorry if wrong place to ask, but i have no idea where i should ask about it. So, fallout 4, vortex plugins section: next to all dlc plugins, i get symbol that says "Requires Cleaning (LOOT)". Anyone knows what's that about and how to fix it? Thanks! UrizenDe
Displayed if a plugin contains ITM ( Identical to Master ) records and deleted references. These plugins should be loaded into xEdit ( in your case FO4Edit ) and cleaned. A word of caution: Certain plugins need their ITMs to function, DO NOT CLEAN THESE. Make sure you can clean a plugin by asking the mod author first.

I am not sure if i understood correctly, could you please explain this: I don't have such warning next to any mod plugins, i have such warning only next to all dlc 6 plugins (those that say loaded by the engine, can't be configured). So naturally i have no mod author to ask first in this case. So, can i safely clean all those dlc 6 plugins in FO4Edit? Or should i leave them as they are? UrizenDe
You can clean them. My warning was really meant for mods and mods only and not DLC released by Bethesda.

sopmac45
Beside the 6 DLC ( that by the way, must be cleaned anytime before starting a game or after an update ), Vivid Weathers requires to be cleaned. I do not know if you have this mod loaded, but it does require to be cleaned just in case you get to use it. And if so, make sure that you only clean the .esp ( main file ) and when you clean it, you do not do the last step of the cleaning process. When you say about 6 dlc "that by the way, must be cleaned anytime before starting a game or after an update" you mean i can't clean them in already started playthrough? I have to abandon current playthrough and start over? What do you mean by "after an update"? I am not using vivid weathers.

Normally you clean plugins before you start your playthrough, however cleaning can be done during it. There shouldn´t be any risk involved in doing so.Whenever steam updates your game, changes made to files can get reverted, .ini files tend to be safe with regards to updates, .esm shipped with the game are not. They will get overwritten during an update and need to be recleaned after it.

Katarsi
N00b question: How do I actually clean the plugin (in my case, the DLC .esm)??? I'm using Vortex for Skyrim SE.
