Panversive
I start with a clean install, I add some mods and everything works fine, add some more and suddenly I get a massive hit to my frame-rate after adding something. The facts:I've done this with a completely clean install four times now and it still happens every time.My computer can handle vanilla Skyrim with HD DLC no problem.I'm not installing mods that affect the graphics in any way except for Static Mesh Improvements. It happens after installing random mods; it's never the same mod throwing the game off.I start each mod installation with a clean save (including previous mods confirmed as functional).I'm careful about following readme and compatibility instructions. After uninstalling any or all of the mods the problem still exists, the only way to fix the problem is to do another clean install of Skyrim. This was never a problem until recently.I'm not opting to use the Steam Beta version of Skyrim. Any ideas why this might be happening?

Georgiegril
Have you downloaded and run BOSS to optimize your load order? What are your graphics card specs and settings? CPU?What mods are you using? What is the load order? You say this is a recent problem, which mods did you add just prior to the fps problem?Have you made any changes to your pref.ini or ini files?Have you closed all non-essential background programs? Panversive
For those who may have the same problem: Turns out many people have been having the problem with many games since Nvidia released their latest drivers. After rolling 301.42 back to 296.10 with the drivers archived on their site the framerate has returned to normal. Now I just have to get all my favorite mods working together happily. =)
Georgiegril
Interesting, what graphics card do you have? The 301.42 improved my frame rate, while the "skyrim edition" did nothing.
Panversive
Interesting, what graphics card do you have? The 301.42 improved my frame rate, while the "skyrim edition" did nothing. Currently using an MSI GeForce GTX 460. Even after a week or so, the framerate is still good with the rolled-back drivers. Could also be the result of still using XP, maybe? I'm finding though that I still get playability problems after adding a certain number of mods (none of which affect graphics, those have all been uninstalled). I'd guess it has to do with RAM; it's possible that the 4GB limit of XP is holding me back.
