Hi all,

I am giving vortex another shot, can I have some words of wisdom from gurus alike who are familar on best way to transfer Skyrim and Fallout4 from my desktop gaming to my laptop gaming system

Some questions:

*is there a way to backup and transfer vortex and the profiles of how mods are setup and ordered

*do I need to purge mods to copy the steam game folders to save downloading the games again!

*when I redeploy the files will the order and enabled mods stay as is?

Cheers

There is currently no simple way to transfer an entire vortex installation to another system easily:

- for all mod/download directories that you customised in settings, you'd need to change them to a drive that exists on the new system (e.g. c:)

- copy C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Roaming\Vortex

- copy C:\ProgramData\vortex

- copy every customised mod/download directory. Again, the path must not change in this step so if you had mods in "c:/vortex_mods/skyrimse" on the original system it has to be "c:/vortex_mods/skyrimse" on the new system.

- copy all savegames (if you have local savegames for some profiles you need to copy the subdirectories below "Saves" as well)

then install vortex on the new system (you don't have to copy it, a fresh install is fine). If you did everything correctly Vortex should start up to exactly the same setup as you had on the old system
