Skyrim Se Stumper of all stumpers . please help !!!!

OK everyone i have been playing skyrim for years as well as SE for a long time , i am an experienced modder but am still stumped , for a month now my character as well as npc's draw the bow with the arrow but cannot and will not fire no matter what i do , I have reinstalled, updated, took all mods off, wyrbashed, looted ,SSEeditted, even tried some crazy console commands , to no avail, someone please figure it out because to start a new game with a new install and still not being able to fire an arrow is just frustrating!!!!!

Taking wild guesses here, but are you using controller or mouse? Have you tested with the opposite, or a backup mouse/controller, to see if your button is not registering release?

a load order would help but myself also taking a wild guess, i would say that what ever animation mod you have is either broken or not installed correctly

thats the weird thing i tried without any mods loaded at all and it was the same , new install and new game still no one can shoot a bow.

using a mouse and keyboard and can do everything else but shoot an arrow from a bow :ohmy:

swap these, nothing is supposed ot load between the vanilla files and the unofficial patch, it states that on the unofficial patch description page

Could try resetting your ini files.

Either:

Download and run Bethini, then start your game

Or

Delete your ini files and start the game. Starting the game should create new ini files with the default settings

 

Before you do either make sure your ini files are backed up somewhere

 

If you are using mod organiser 2 then make sure the new ini files are also being used for the profile you are playing

btw is this a current play through or a new one?

 

IF it's a new one you can NOT have Helgen Reborn enabled at startup, you HAVE to wait till you either leave the cave under helgen, or, get to your first city or town once leaving one of the alternate start areas

 

you can have it installed, just not ticked enabled in your load order until you meet one of the conditions above

OP should be ok keeping Helgen Reborn activated if using Alternate Start and not selecting vanilla start. Just do not read the book to start the quest until after you have informed the jarl of whiterun of the Dragon attack.

 

If using vanilla start then yeah do as gromulos has said
