Ascheriit2 Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 (edited) Hi. Please forgive me for my English; :) I have a problem since I update Skyrim to the last beta patch 1.6.89.0. When I attack with a two handed sword, animations are cut. I can instantly attack multiple time (bug) but the two handed sword animation is at normal speed. I have this problem with a basic one handed sword too. Bows are OK. I'm using weapon skin mods, weapon perk tree replacers and other non-related mods. Someone has an idea please ? Edit: If I don't move and I just attack, all is normal. Animations are not cut. They are cut when I move/straf while attacking. Edited June 11, 2012 by Ascheriit2
Ascheriit2 Posted June 11, 2012 Author Posted June 11, 2012 I found the problem. It's because I am using FNIS (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/11811). I will report this problem to "fore". Thanks. :)
Rabbit1251 Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 Yes. Apparently the new patch doesn't play nice with modded animation files. The modders will have to update their mods to account for this. On a side note your English is some of the finest that I have had a pleasure in reading. Rabbit
FlandreClarke Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 (edited) I've the same problem, but I've never used FNIS. After reading this, I tried disabling every animation mod I had, no luck, heck I even went and emptied the animations folders. Still attacking a million times in one swing :V Edited June 18, 2012 by FlandreClarke
Rabbit1251 Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 It's not necessarily animation files that can cause problems. I've heard that mods like Close Quivers can cause trouble. There may be more as well. Rabbit
Geoeve07 Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 Another topic on this occurred here- http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/704766-swords-wont-swing/ From that it seems that even a fresh install is effected. I am not entirely sure what the problem is, but I do have multiple animations modded myself and am experiencing that problem. However I've never modded two handed hammer/axe swings and those are also messing up... perhaps it is just a patch problem entirely?
FlandreClarke Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 (edited) Rabbit has a point, my brother has most of the same animation mods I do, and yet his attack animations are fine. Heck, I neglect to update my Skyrim by launching it through SKSE for months, I go and update it, and this happens! Oh Bethesda... The problem is becoming more sporadic, Sometimes I can't sheathe or unsheathe me weapons and sometimes during combat I just enter a 'T-stance' for no reason. The worst part is that NPCs have this glitch, and NPCs that attack a million times in one swing is as fun as it sounds... Edited June 19, 2012 by FlandreClarke
veslarius Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 I can't find a solution to the weapon freezing problem. I made backups and deleted everything except skyrim and dawnguard and my weapon animation still freezes in 1st and 3rd person views. I restored earlier saves and it wasnt long before they did the same thing. The problem seemed to come out of nowhere and I have no idea how to fix it. Ill keep trying but I doubt i'll get anywhere. If anyone knows the solution let me know please.
Rhurin Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 Been searching for a solution for ages... This is game breaking! I just had a bear kill me in one swipe that sounded like 30 on my lvl 36 orc warrior in werewolf with all perks blah blah...He must've been Smokey the bear and saw me running around the forest with fire enchanted axes burning rabbits and elk -_- Thread seems old and only has active posts in short bursts - Anyone found a solution? With ASIS, DD, ACE, and Duel on max difficulty the game isn't even fun like this :( Melee characters aren't EVER fun at any difficulty like this with Duel installed because the rapid fire attacks drain all stamina when you block and the lol-insta-gib isn't enjoyable on the receiving or the dealing end!
Rhurin Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 no response from anyone makes me saaaad :(
