using FO4Edit to fix values broken by an unknown mod

put short, i tried a mod, but i didn't like it because apparently it seems to have made the reload speed of ALL my weapons to like.....a tenth of a second.

its extremely irritating and kinda ruins the game for me, i cant figure out how to fix this issue.

 

uninstalling the mod didn't work, i tired removing the quick hands perks, i also tried installing the quicker hands mod in hopes that it would overwrite the value....it didn't.

 

does anyone know what values to edit in fo4edit to reset my base reload speed back to default?

you could try looking at what values the mod edits (just open it in FO4Edit and look through it)

also if you can try to assess when the issue started (after picking a specific perk or an item) , you could try looking up what in the mod is attached to this

 

another good idea would be to ask the mod author of the mod that caused the issue

they should know best what their mod edits , and should be able to tell you how to fix it (hopefully)

 

assuming you haven't added it mid play , if the mod caused this issue right after being installed you could just start a new game

if this started at a specific point , maybe try loading a save before the issue has occurred , and play with that instead

well thanks for the reply. it was indeed installed mid play, i have tried loading a save before it was installed, but it seems the base value of my reload speed has been permanently affected, changing the value for even new games.

if the change happened right when installing the mod , it's probably through either a value it edits or a script

not sure how to check about a script in FO4Edit , but I really think contacting the mod author would be your best choice

the mod is brand new and the author is active , so you should get a reply soon

 

as a side note , let this be a lesson for why adding mods mid playthrough is a terrible idea

I hope you manage to salvage your playthrough , as loosing hours of gameplay is never fun

but sometimes learning such things the hard way is the only way.........

my mod would not cause this issue, the only way you can increase reload speed is by picking a perk the specifically mentions it (which only increases the reload speed by 20% per rank, that will not make weapons reload rapidly as you so put, they will be much quicker but not ridiculosly fast) also it helps to pay attention to what you are doing. with that said my mod will do nothing on a brand new character without perks

 

why you would install an overhaul mod half way through a playthrough is beyond me

 

Edit: the mod is now deleted, it should not of been uploaded in the first place, since i made it for personal use, but thought others may want it, judging from stats that is not the case, so it is now gone.
