Riffzor
Been looking through some of the Alternate Start mods, found a lot of interesting-looking ones but none that starts you off as a Vampire? Now, if all I'd want would be to become a vampire at square one, I would do so through console commands; so what do I actually want? Well, finding RP-styled gaming much more amusing than plowing through Skyrim merely to achieve the tasks dropped upon my shoulders, as well as always appreciating well-made mods, I'd like a proper mod that actually makes it feel as if 'Yeah, alright, I'm a vampire'. So, I'll leave it up to whoever feel up to it to decide the details, but here are some of my ideas of what I'd do if I knew how to do it:You awaken in a dark, damp place. You feel weak, cold - and ravenous like nothing you've ever felt before... As far as you can remember (Now, I'm not sure how well cinematic clips can be made, but an idea if it's possible, would be that you lie in a coffin, and as you push off the lid - allowing the pale moon light to shine down on you enough to see your own character, the race menu pops up; and that's where you make your character as usual). You ascend from your grave (crypt, catacomb, an open grave in a graveyard - up to the modder) and look around, it's dark and cold; but the chill does not seem to affect you - you merely feel aware of that it's there, in an apathic, absent-minded manner. Nothingness surrounding you, not even a tombstone over your grave from which you can learn your true name, you decide to leave; out into the world to find out what you are, what happened to you - but most of all, to sate that insationable thirst tearing in your gut. Requested features: - A new area which, at least in the beginning, is empty and far from civilization, forsaken and forgotten long since. Again, I'll leave the theme up to the modder to decide, as long as it's dark and 'mystical'. I personally find it much easier to work with interrior spaces, and won't hold it to anyone deciding to have a go at it if it's all just a small cave or crypt/catacomb, I'll probably go ahead and make myself a suitable homestead on my own as I see fitting to my character. - Vampires, Necromancers and Witches (and their minions) by default being neutral, even if perhaps territorical, leaving it up to your actions to decide wether they'll allow your presence or if they'll have a go at you (neutral as in, neutral, not as in allowing you to loot their stuff and walk off). - Main-Quest disabled, a Vampire-Dovahkin always made the game feel somewhat... Flawed. Dragons should instead turn up on random occasions once a suitable level is aquired (not sure how controllable it is, but generally it feels as if there's dragons all over when playing through Skyrim, I'd prefer to see it as a rare, random-encounter boss situation). - Simple, suitable weapons, armour and misc 'stuff' in the starting area; iron armour set and both 1h and 2h weapons to be found, long bow and a couple of arrows, a simple black robe with the basic 50% mana regen bonus and a set of hide armour so that you won't have to run into the wilds fighting with your bare hands (and teeth!) before you reach a town. - (optional, but preferable) Starting at vampirism stage 4 (considering you've been dug down for a while without feeding) - and a graveyard caretaker's shack nearby so that you can have your first meal reasonably soon after emerging into the world (with the caretaker being asleep at night, and the game starting around midnight so you should have time to sneak in and grab a snack - or just skip all that and run off with your loony-ravenous vampire powers hoping to butcher a few bandits before you settle down). - (optional, but preferable) The 3 basic standing stones at the starting area (perhaps remoddeled to suit the place if possible and considered required), either in the shape of shrines or just as weird-looking tombstones scattered across the graves. And that concludes this request, although I'd just like to spit it out in the open that any well-made vampire mods are appreciated. There are a few that makes the gameplay more enjoyable and balanced, but being a fan of vampirism in general I really like it when there's a good vampire-related mod around! bbe
it seems you've missed the most popular alternate start mod:Live another life: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/9557 that mod does indeed allow you to start as a vampire, though the features you request aren't all there. Riffzor
Oh, lookie! I saw that one whilst searching about, but it had a rather restricted description on the site. Read through the readme, and lovin' it. =) Cheers for pointing it out!
