mysterious man

just recently I entered Riften for the first time during the night and on the balcony of the Black Briar manor was a nightingale
named 'Mysterious man." you couldn't talk to him or anything. upon finishing the quest Brynjolf gives you to steal Medessie's ring, the nightingale disappears..
I assume he might of been Mercer Frey? but I could be wrong. any suggestions on who he could be?

Couldn't find any trace of it in my game. Not even a simple text of those two words together. Maybe part of a mod I don't have? Or maybe its not under mysterious man in the console. Maybe something else. For what its worth, I did find a "mysterious woman" but only as a text not an NPC.

Damn- I wonder what mod he came from...because I have a unique NPC mod, that enables NPC followers only.. if he isn't a mod, maybe he is a rare encounter?

Install it, and then in game, do console command,

put your pointer on the object in question, left click,

and info on that item will tell you all about it. Tab

key can be used for less / more info.
