The Awakening Of Change

Belle smiled, she too liked Ian... he was the first person who didn't try and kill her, or look at her as if she was a demon, she looked at his white teeth when he smiled, and then she looked at his scars, she traced the line of one of them and said "Surface wound... Claws... didn't penetrate any veins, didn't go through the cheek... Lucky guy... it it was me, i would have torn off your face!" She laughed happily, she heard him say Handouts and responded with "Handouts? it's not a handout, my hand is not falling out, and i haven't cut off yours... which is strange... this, green stuff, these note thingy's, they buy stuff but... i think they are stupid... why put people's heads on there? i wouldn't like it if my head was stuck on a piece of paper..." She said, dropping the wad on the floor "Money! That's what it's called, root of ALL evil they say? well you know what i say?.... Cliffs are too rocky!" She again said in her cheerful yet completely insane voice, not a bit of what she said made any sense, apart from her seemingly expert knowledge of the cuts. Edited by mythicdawnmaster

Ian looked at Belle with confusion, but also with curiosity. How did she know so much about the cuts? A voice in his head said, in worried voice. Ian ended up forgetting the thoughts as Belle's constant rambling overclouded his voice in his head. He listened patiently and grinned lightly as she continued to talk about the incoherent things about money that she didn't care for. However, during her never ending speech, she dropped the money in her hand. He squatted down on his knees; still listening to her talking about how cliff's are to rocky or something, and gently picked up the wad of money and stood up straight again. He outstretched his arm to give the money back, "I think you dropped this, Mrs.Smith," he asked lightly, but still calm. Why did you pronounce her as Mrs.Smith? The voice said in his head, in an angry tone. Because it's polite. He decided.

The sun finally began to rise a bit more, which slapped Ian with the warmth of it. His face lit up in the rays of the light, and his dark green eyes glinted lightly.

Father Kilpatrick walked back to his church, rubbing his chin where he had been struck. "The girl was clearly 99 cents short of a dollar." Thought he, as he walked inside. He locks the strongbox, retrieves his weapons, then locks the church. He retrieves a sign from a hidden stone box near the door, and hangs it on a large nail beside the door. "Off on business, Church Closed." Reads the sign. He nods and goes to retrieve his horse Dark Thunder from the stable behind the church. This horse was a thing of beauty. He stood 17 hands 2 inches at the shoulder and weighed over a ton. He was black, with a white diamond on his forehead, and a white stocking on his right hind leg. He was of even temperament, and had fine bones. A rich man had asked to buy him to put into racing, due to his speed and stamina, and Brian refused. The horse had been a gift from an old man who ran a horse ranch for taking care of a rustler or two. The old man told him to pick whatever horse he wanted, and he picked the yearling nuzzling at his pockets looking for food. Brian shakes himself out of his reverie as Dark Thunder nuzzled him affectionately. He puts on the saddle blanket, and cushion to ensure the saddle wouldn't chafe him or the horse, then he buckles on the saddle, and puts the bridle with the softest bit onto his horses head, who obligingly opens his mouth to incorporate the bit, to which the reins attached for steering. He packs the saddlebags, and leads the horse out of the stall and paddock, mounts up, and cassock flapping out behind him, rides out of town.

Belle smiled "I don't need it back Mr Ian that looks like a Joe, keep it." She heard him call her Mrs smith and she laughed "I'm not Mrs Smith! i ain't my mother, i am miss Smith... never been married, never going to either, too much trouble." She said with a smile, looking at the collection of lethal blades that adorned her belt, they glinted in the sunlight, some still covered in blood.

Ian grinned slightly as she called him "Ian that looks like Joe". However, he frowned as she also turned down the money. He hated taking money from people; it made him feel like a homeless man, who can't work and exploits peoples sympathy. Sighing, he put the bundle of money and stuffed it into his back pocket. Turning back around to face Belle again, he could see New Austin over her shoulder, and remembered what he was going to go do. But that now he just lost all of his money, he might as well turn around and head back to Niveria.

Looking down to Belle's collection of knifes on her belt, even some of the knifes had, what looks like, fresh blood on them. His eyes widen as the sudden realization of her true nature... But he didn't move, or pull out his Colt and shoot her right then and there. Something stopped him from doing this, or moving for that matter. He tried to swallow, but felt like trying to swallow a rock. After clearing his throat, he slowly looked back up to face Belle again, "Are you going to Niveria?" He murmured, trying to hide his nervousness.

Ian took a deep breath, calming himself down. Maybe she used those for self defense He thought, but the voice in his head returned again, You know it wasn't for self defense, stop making excuses for her! The voiced yelled at him. He quietly sighed to himself as he bent his elbow and pointed his thumb out, which pointed behind him. "Follow the road, it eventually leads to Niveria..." He started, trailing off, "Do you mind if I go with you? I would like the company," He suddenly said, absentmindedly. She kills people, and you just invited her along to walk to Niveria, which takes about a half a day walk, and it's almost night time. Good job Ian. The voice in his head muttered, again in a angered tone. Edited by TheBestIdiot122

Belle smiled.... she hadn't found a victim... she had found... maybe a friend? "Sure thing Ian... I need a friend, and the company. It gets lonely just talking to the knives." She smiled, taking off her hat, and putting it on the back of the horse, tying it to the pack of items she had "I needed to take that off for a while, and the shade is quite fine this side of the cliff."

Ian's expression turned blank again, he was glad that he wasn't finally traveling alone. The roads were dangerous even for Ian, who had much more experience then most people. He didn't take his hat off, he was so use to the hat on his head that he rarely took it off. Ian turned around, and started walking up the hill, only to turn around and gestured Belle to follow him.
