Mod problems

Some of the mods I've downloaded don't seem to take any affect ingame. Mods such as advanced magecraft and show amulets don't seem to be active, I ran Fcom helper and still nothing. I'm running vista if that changes anything, anyone know any solutions?

You need OBSE for Advanced Magecraft. A very useful utility that is worth having since a lot of good mods require it, also, I supposed that you have OBMM installed.

Hope this helps.

Oops sorry forgot to mention I have OBSE and OBMM, and not matter what i do some of my mods don't work. It can't be a confliction either, especially for show amulets, I don't wanna remove fiddle with the files too much becuase last time i did I couldn't load my saves.

Thanks for your contribution.

Have you tried fiddling around with the load orders? Some of the other mods you have(especially if you've modified them in any way for your personal use) might be overwriting the changes in those new mods of yours that don't seem to be working. If the mods that you're currently trying to make work only consist of some minor tweaking instead of large scale changes, you might wanna try dropping them to the very bottom of the load order and see if they work then. If you've already tried this, just drop a note here and I'll try to think of other reasons.

If you want an OBSE Mod to run, you have to place the .dll file into the \Data\OBSE\Plugins folder. You also have to start Oblivion with OBSE. If you haven't followed the OBSE Readme instructions for the Oblivion icon, then you can use Wrye Bash to start Oblivion with OBSE.

what .dll files the ones that come with the OBSE? and the readme didn't say anything about the /data/OBSE/data plugins, to install it it jsut said cpy and paste into the oblivion folder. I'm sorry if I'm becoming a pest but I need help. How do I change the file path from oblivion.exe to the OBSE loader file, I imagine i have to go into properties and chnage the target file is that right?

Installing OBSE is just unpacking the compressed file into the Oblivion folder. Just make sure your unpacker (7z, zip, rar, whatever) is configured to honor folder structure.

Some people has complained WinZip places files placed into subfolders at the same level as it's root folder by default. I don't know since I don't use winzip. Anyway, keeping subfolders is a configurable feature anyone must care to setup whatever unpacker he uses.

Edit: Obviously this is valid to any compressed file, mod, utility or whatever, not just OBSE

I have reasons to believe several issues comes from wrongly configured unpackers.
