skodips Posted June 15, 2012 Share Posted June 15, 2012 Hey guys, so I recently got my hands on a disc of FO3, and remembering hearing about how awesome the modding community was for this game, decided to give it a try. So I downloaded all the items; the mod I want to use, the FOMM, the FOSE, everything. I however, did not know that you were supposed to update the game to the latest patch for it to work. So I have tried updating the patch for the past 2 hours. I've done everything short of uninstalling the program itself. I deactivated all my mods, and got rid of the archive invalidation. I have no idea what I did wrong! PS: I am currently running a lenovo thinkpad 420. Does it potentially have anything to do with my current choice of hardware? eric31415 Posted June 15, 2012 Share Posted June 15, 2012 Your laptop uses IntelHD graphics. FO3 will run on this, but you're going to have to use something like this to trick the game into it. If, for example, you have the GOTY (Game of the Year) edition, you don't need to update your game at all. It already has the latest (1.7) patch. skodips Posted June 15, 2012 Author Share Posted June 15, 2012 (edited) I forgot to mention as well that I do not even get to the starting screen. It crashes while trying to load, even if I am running vanilla FO3, with no modsEDIT: I am running the original FO3, not the GOTY edition. Trying to patch to 1.7 causes the same problem as well.
