Can't load character presets

If anyone searches for this I found the answer by accident. After saving a character in RACEMENU and shutting down the game, it put the preset in my overwrite folder. I just right-clicked the "overwrite" and made a new mod out of it then enabled the mod. I then took the preset file I downloaded and dropped it into the folder of the new mod...VOILA! No gimmicks, booted up the game, brought up showracemenu from the console, at the presets tab hit F9 (load presets) and there they were.

A simpler way to do this is to create an empty mod in the left pane called RacemenuPresets, then copy the file structure for CharGen over to it: SKSE->Plugins->CharGen->Presets

 

Load it anywhere below your SKSE folder and anytime you export a preset or a head, it will automatically drop there.

I'm rather dense. I don't understand a word you said. All I know is when I pull up the preset tab in showracemenu, my presets show up, but they won't load. My wood elf character shows up as a Nord. Help, please.

i dont understand s#*! from any of you guys explanation i tried making my own preset to make a folder didnt work so any preset i got from nexus that i placed in mo2 and a folder i had to made in my data folder saying SKSE/plugins/CharGen/presets it still doesnt show on top of that it looks like racemenu is working but a pop up message happens before the game lauch at the start so idk if that has any reason for it?

 

the message it shows is as followed

so from what i get it says that but for some reason my skee is up to date so no idea why it shows up

Sounds like you might have the wrong version of SKSE installed.

nah i checked i got the lastest one which is weird to why it shows like skse on nexus is outdated so you must go to the persons patreon to download the lastest one there

skee64 is part of racemenu. Have you checked to see if your version of racemenu is the up-to-date one, or the correct one for both your SE and SKSE? You can use https://modding.wiki/en/skyrim/users/skse-plugins to check for the SKSE64 versions and SKSE plugins for compatibility with the different SE builds.
