gamefever Posted August 29, 2012 Share Posted August 29, 2012 Well from what I can see in your log is that you've got aa weapon mod that uses scripting to place weapons on NPC's I personally think thats a waste of memory resources considering you can make a patch altering the leveled lists in the CK. The reasoning behind doing so is to max out the compatibility of the mod, but it's hardly nessasary with Wrye Bash patch the main purpose of which is to merge lvled lists. Also you should consider convienent horses over your other horse mods. Its a sound mod that does everything you'd want from a horse mod. I'm having crashes to and mostly I think I'm putting too much of a burden on papyrus. Now that I've started looking at the mods I'm installing I keep asking myself why on earth did these guys think scripting was the better route when the tools to achieve the same result can be done with the lists in the CK or at least they were in the Geck were my experince was from. gamefever Posted August 29, 2012 Share Posted August 29, 2012 Ok I'm getting crashes I've got two mods spamming scripts like crazy to no end likely becuase I'm using a ASIS to put 3 to 4 times as many NPCs in my game. I get the above mentioned weapon spam which is now obvious to me why...Clearly it has to do 4 times as much work.I'm also getting a whole lot of spam from the Unofficail Patch...No idea why probably because there are more npc'sWithout the Unofficail patch I get the Lvlpredatorscript error to no end...Mybe because I have 4 times as many animals. blitzen Posted September 1, 2012 Share Posted September 1, 2012 (edited) Don't get too obsessed with the lines in the logs with respect to any CTDs or lockups. They aren't necessarily related. The lvlpredatorscript error occurs without Dawnguard too. I see it periodically. I do recall that I was able to play for something like 35 hours before my first crash with Skyrim. That was on a much earlier version (1.4 I think), so it may be less stable now, oddly enough. At this point, I have 250 mods and if I go an hour without crashes or lockups, I consider myself fortunate. You could try waiting 31 days in an interior cell to allow that crashing cell to reset, and see if it fixes the problem. I don't really see any mod that messes with the level lists in your plugins, so waiting may not make a difference, but you can try it. Someone once posted a comment that they had discovered that their game crashed if a certain creature or npc were killed. It seemed to be a problem with the mesh. Maybe something died in that cell and its death mesh crashes the game. Who knows. This entire game is a mystery. Mujuro Posted September 2, 2012 Share Posted September 2, 2012 GuaZi As you've probably realized, CTDs can be caused by any number of different factors. Sometimes you can tell what's causing a predictable CTD by looking at the logs at the timestamp, sometimes you can't. This is because the CTD may only be the final symptom of a culmination of conflicts among mods, load order issues, etc. Regarding Ceri's SMARTCast line, that's a specific debug trace log line I put in to help me troubleshoot; notice there's no "error" language in front of it. What that line signifies is that (i) you're in combat, (ii) Ceri's got an opponent targeted, and (iii) she's assessing the opponent to determine what spell(s) to use. Specifically regarding the lvlpredatorscript, that's vanilla Skyrim and been around for ages (e.g., you can get that in your logs with ZERO mods activated). I'm not sure that causes consistent CTDs, so my guess is that what's causing your CTD isn't that script, but something else. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I definately singled out the "Skyrim NExus Community Weapon Overhaul" Mod as the culprit for my CTDs. And yes you were right. Seems the log does not always correspond with the CTD whatsoever. Again thx a lot for the help. I hope this might help other people in case of having similar CTDs as me.
