vegachanter
I've got a good game going. Pretty stoked and been binging out on a good mod setup. I boot the game and play for a few hours. I exit and decide to add the "no spinning death animation," mod after crushing a few bandit skulls just to watch them do their little dance and fall over. When I reboot the game I get this message, "You are using a newer version of Skyrim than this version of SKSE64 supports. If this version just came out, please be patient while we update our code.In the meantime, please check http://skse.silverlock.org for updates. Do not email about this!Runtime: 1.5.53SKSE64: 2.0.8" I believe the current build on silverlock is 1.5.50. I have no idea what happened. I thought I was running 1.5.50, but apparently I'm not. I never saw Skyrim do any kind of update, and was unable to find any news online about a recent update. My thoughts were maybe the "no spinning death animation," mod changed something. But I disabled the mod and still get the message. Was just curious if anyone else is having this problem or can confirm that an update hit Skyrim today? I don't mind waiting for silverlock to update the code, but if this is an easy fix that's unrelated to skse64, I'd rather fix it so I can keep binging! HadToRegister
Currently Skyrim SE and Fallout 4 say UPDATE REQUIRED in my Steam Browser. You should turn off AUTO UPDATE on your games on Steam.
HadToRegister
There is a mod that Automatically back ups the Skyrim SE exe so when and update happens you can restore the old exe and keep playingSearch for Auto Backup or Backup EXE etc..I tell people about it in every thread that gets posted about their game updating and having an old version of SKSK64 or F4SE, to download the mod but nobody listens.I've even posted links, but nobody cares, so I'll give the words to search for from now on. jfjb2005
thanks for the tip, broMy SSE worked until last night, then whatever and kaboum !So I followed our tip to test on my system.Got 1.1.5.50 all right but error box: incompatible with SKSE64 build 2.00.10, so I downgraded it to the build 2.00.09. Same error message. But current SSE steam-updated works with SKSE 2.00.09... so far (grin) Edited December 5, 2018 by jfjb2005
ericjmz
Just to say it, there IS another very practical alternativein fact its the very alternative I'm doing now, on my replay of Skyrim SE (currently I am level 7...basically I'm a slight bit stronger than the average skeever) Just Play the updated Skyrim!...and every few days check the Silverlock site for the SKSE64 (forthcoming...it Always does eventually!) update The point being you can STILL PLAY your setupThere will be 2 annoyances, but they do NOT break gameplay 1. there's an extra little pause when the menus come up when you press 'I' to see said menus...about 3 seconds2. and also the SKSE64 menu has SOME (for example 'value") but not ALL (for example 'damage') of the various items But the point is you can still play your current SkyrimAs a wild guess, from a NON technical guy, I am guessing its better to prevent the inevitable/eventual save game corruptions than switching back-n-forth from different Skyrim versions eric PS: and still ANOTHER alternative-just disable SKSE64 in your Vortex or NMMagain you'll still be playing Skyrim...in fact you'll be playing it the same way every console player and non-modding Skyrim player plays it! Its hard not having SKSE64 once you've had it, as there's near 100% agreement it is better-but its a minor inconvenience for (what will probably be) a week or so

It's the mods that require it that may cause the game to break, but I think the only mod you have that uses it is SkyUi and you confuse SkyUi with skse.. they are different things. On a game with 15+ mods that use skse scripts it's impossible to play until every single mod is updated for the new version. and yes it does break the game prety easily
