Premium Member 1mb Speed Cap

Are you actually seeing a cap in the text of the site or software, or are you saying your download speed doesn't go above 1MB/sec and therefore you think we're capping it?

 

As a Premium Member, we do not cap your download speed, but that doesn't necessarily mean you will get faster download speeds. We have servers across 6 different geographic locations in North America and Europe. If you cannot download fast from any of them, then, unfortunately, this means your ISP does not have a good connection to our ISP, and there's nothing we can do about that.

 

Please try downloading from every single Premium server and see if you get better speeds from any of them.

I am getting over 120mbps downloads from other sites, but I realize that they are on another network / trunk, however I am getting 4mbps from your server through Vortex, and only 1mbps through the website. Considering that the site says you cap users at 1mbps if they are not premium or have add-block it doesn't seem too odd that I would suspect an issue. I also have never had this issue in the past, I have been a premium user for years. I am located in the Midwest, United States. I get 1 MBps from the NA Premium, solid, no fluctuation up or down, from the two EU premiums I get less than 500kb, from the CDN I get under 160kb.

The Premium servers have absolutely no cap at all on them, so if you're seeing slow speeds on them, unfortunately, it really is just your connection to our servers/our connection to your ISP. I'm in the UK and I'm getting ~10MB/second download speeds from the NA server alone.

 

We have new Premium servers being rolled out in the next few weeks so, if the problem doesn't resolve itself in that time, hopefully the new servers will see improved speeds for you.

The only way we can thoroughly test this is by accessing your account personally and trying to download the same file(s). So please can you change your password to something temporary, then PM me your new temporary password, and I shall give it a test myself. Please also let me know what file you're downloading and from what file server. I'll then PM you to let you know when I'm done and you can either change your password back to what it was, or to something else entirely.

I didn't do anything yet! Do you still need me to test this? Are you sure you were logged in to your Premium account when downloading? :X
