Construction Set Difficulty

Hello, I am a relatively new member to this. I recently purchased Oblivion for the PC after enjoying it on the PS3. The main reasoning behind this was because of the developed modding community. I was attempting to go through the "Create your own Companions" Tutorial given in the "CM Partners Mod", however I have come across a difficulty with CS that I do no quite know how to solve. Every time I attempt to save the plug-in as a custom mod, I receive the following message:

"Unable to complete operation due to failure renaming temp file. Temp file remains.

Continue running executable?"

Clicking yes creates an un-usable plug-in of the name you typed, and clicking no will cause the editor to quit. Is there some sort of temporary file that is created when you start CS, or is this an error with the editor itself? I apologize if this is a noobish question (As it does seem like I'm missing something very obvious), and I appreciate your time.

If is Vista this may be one of those weirds security issues. Vista is giving troubles every time things are installed in the C:\Program Files folder.

If is Vista and you don't wish reinstalling away from that nefandum folder you may need set off UAC so Vista will not ask administrator allowance even to administrator accounts...

If isn't vista you need to supply more details. The message is clear: the temporary folder or file is protected.

Never saw such problem for myself, what lead me to think tis anomalous instance not coming from CS itself.

Unfortunately, I use a Windows XP.

I will do my best to give all of the details, so I'll describe the process I went through. Essentially, I clicked on "Data" and used Oblivion.esm, CM Partners.esm, and CM Partners.esp. I created a renamed duplicate of one of the existing CM Partners as it described in the tutorial, thus making an NPC with all of the CM Partners commands. However, when I try to save the file, it gives me the aforementioned error. I have also tried doing this without CM Partners loaded to see if there was any connection between that, but it gives the same error regardless.

I went around looking to see if there was some sort of Temp folder that CS had created, however I couldn't find one. Instead, I decided it might be one of the two files created after saving.

Essentially, if I were to save something as "Mymod.esp", it would create "Mymod.esp" on my data folder, and a "Mymod.tes" in the data folder as well. The esp folder is considered 0 KB, and when I try to load it in Oblivion it says that it is an invalid plug-in file. I changed the name of the .esp file to see if that was the temp the error was referring to, however, when I try to save it a second time, CS will freeze and I have to force quit out of it.

I do really appreciate your time, thank you.

Sorry for the double post, but I found the solution to the problem, and I figured it might be useful information for anyone else in the event they come across the same problem.

The problem was that my Anti-Virus Software: Fix-It interfered with the CS's function to overwrite a temp file it creates when saving a mod. So, for anyone out there who has purchased any version of Fix-It, be warned that so long as it's activated, CS (along with MANY online games) will not work properly.
