Create an exterior house (not shack, a real house)

I'dd like to create an exterior house. I don't want to create a shack, but a real house, like those one you can see in Whiterun or in an other city.

The problem is all of the structures (exept for Markarth farm models) are not enterable.

All of them have a piece of wood that blocks you from entering (it is placed behind where the main door must stay). There are some exeptions, but the problem is always the same: for example Solitude houses have a black barrier behind the main door.

With the creation kit you can't remove this barrier...

So...the question is: how to remove this barriers from the house models? If I don't remove them, I can't create an exterior house.

You'll have to open up the .nif file and edit the mesh as well as the collision model. To edit the models you can use Blender, 3ds max maya or any other software. Blender is free and 3ds max is free for students.

What you do is that you export the model with nifskope and use niftools to open it in whichever 3d modeling program and then modify and finally export it. Then you replace the old mesh with the new one.

Use Google. A lot

Or just place a door static in the doorframe (like you're supposed to) and then make an interior cell.

If you have the of interior of your house in Tamriel worldspace, then all the weather elements will also be inside your house. The walls and roof don't block snow and rain.

Do you mean it is possible to create a teleport door and teleport to the other side, but when you are at the other side (in the house interior) you are still in Tamriel worldspace? I didn't know that! That sounds new to me (maybe because I'm at the beginning with my modding experience)

I don't know if I explained well...

PS: isn't there a way to protect the house from snow and rain?

David i would recommend you to go see the Beth Skyrim tutorials in youtube, they make a dungeon as a example but the way they connect the dungeon to the "outside" world is the same for everything, there you will learn how to make an entrance, link the outside door with an interior Cell and the general idea on how to design interior and exterior spaces.
