9 Second Freeze

I've been having random 9 second freezes as I play my game. I don't know of anything that would cause that except a bad CPU/GPU, and my current setup has run skyrim many times without this problem. And I've timed it every time it freezes, it's always 9 seconds, then the game starts back up again for a minute or less. It's not technically game breaking, but it is one of the most annoying things I've ever come across. Anyone know what's wrong?

Check your save game file sizes, I had this for 2-3 seconds because of 50mb save files, might be the case. Good luck.

I have about 15mb save files, and triple the time, so I don't think that's the problem, but is there any way I can decrease my save file size?

I tried reloading a smaller save an hour or so earlier and it runs fine. But is there any way to keep my save file size small?

I'm quoting this from a thread I made 2-3days ago with the similar problem (It's here)

The quote from a reply;

Unfortunately once this starts to happen, that entire save set is fubar. If you have used the console to edit your character by using the command "showracemenu" then this will likely occur regardless. Showracemenu and other edits to the main character tend to leave trash behind, and they tend to duplicate, triplicate etc with each new save.

You have to go back to a save prior to this happening, and if you are only using the autosave feature (thus not creating your own named save files) then likely you only have 3 files anyway and most likely will not have a save that you can use to go backwards with.

EDIT - just wanted still to tell you when it started to happen with me, I installed 1.6 and got the mod Build Your Own Home, could be either, no clue, it's a mystery. :(

Hope it helps, I had to delete my poor Bergdis... :(

Oh, thanks. Does that apply all the time, or just arbitrarily? Because I have one character I edit all the time with no problems, and the one I'm having trouble with I might have edited twice.

Honestly, I have no idea. The character that got hit, I almost edited her on daily base and never had a problem until it flew up to 50m in like 2 days, nor with any of my other characters in this case.

So from my point of view, it's unlikely that this is the main cause, but hey, who knows. :wallbash:
