Trying to fix CTDs

Seems to happen most often in exterior cells and sometimes on auto reload of a save. Any help would be appreciated.

Quick edit: This is all a pretty fresh install that I did two days ago. Haven't played the game in a long while so started fresh and reinstalled all mods with Vortex mod manager. Honestly speaking I have fewer mods running this time than I use to, and most of these have been used previously with no issue.

I do not know ... I am running FO4 with 75 mods and one of them is WOTC ( War of the Commonwealth ) which is a mod that will cause CTD and I have had some but other than that, I am ok.

The only mods that triggered my attention in your load order are : Nuclear reload and ENBLightsHDR Patch …. Grassland is a heavy mod, it will drop your FPS ( I used it before and I discontinued using it because it was causing issues ) …. you should disable those mods and see how your game behave ….

Yeah since posting I've tried disabling both Nuclear Reloaded and Grasslands, still getting random CTDs. Hard to pinpoint frequency of them, sometimes it happens within 10 minutes other tiimes it's good for a couple hours.

Hi

Lower your resolution and test.

Start a new character or different character save and test.

Check your save file size.

I was getting random CTDs so I used Fallout Performance Monitor to see what my hardware was doing. I found that my GPUs average usage was 100%. I lowered the resolution to take the stress off the GPU and the CTDs went away. On further testing I found that my other character saves that were close to the same level only averaged 64% GPU usage. Something happened to my save. I have no clue what caused it.

I added checking the file size because the only other time I got lots of CTDs it ended up being save game bloat.

Update:

As of right now the game has been stable. I have re-enabled Nuclear Reloaded and Grasslands and have had no crashes yet, been playing for several hours now with no issues. I'm not sure what was causing my problems the other day.

Looking at the save file size it appears to be normal to me. It's hard to say, I've got some saves from months ago that are about the same size, slightly bigger, but much more finished with the game. I'm not sure if the current play through is unusually large for its progress or not, but the file is about 12,600 kb in size.
