[HELP] SkyUI Error Code 5 (Tried Everything)

EDIT: FIXED BY REMOVING "CraftingMenu.swf" from Data/Interface folder.

I recently reinstalled the entire game (after full uninstall: remove game folders, documents folders, appdata, everything) and moved to Vortex from NMM. I installed around 200 mods and started the game, and haven't been able to run SkyUI even once. It shows the "CraftingMenu" or "MessageBox" errors. I even deleted the *.swf files from Data/Interface and re-downloaded SkyUI, but I still can't get it to work. I reinstalled SKSE64 as well. I use BethINI (potato laptop) and some forums suggested to unlock the 60 fps thing. I did. I tried in both FullScreen and Borderless Windowed mode. I even started a new game, and still can't get rid of the SkyUI Error Code 5. Please help :sad:.

Hi All ...

I see that a lot of people are having these type of problem.. Here is a solution that i found ...

Do not disable any thing in MCM menu .... it only stops the error message. If u get and incompatible menu file error just go in you skyrim directory -> Data Folder -> Interface. Find the file name that was in the error message like for example favoritemenu.swf . You just need to cut this file from skyrim interface folder and make a 'interface backup' folder anywhere and paste it in that or if you want to delete it , your choice but i highly recommend to make a backup instead of deleting it ...

Same applies for any ERROR CODE 5 in SkyUI .... This word 100% and you will see the SkyUI menu the next time you start the game.

This can happen if these mods are not deployed correctly, you should check that. For me I use vortex it happens to me a lot when I installed a mod and did not redeploy the mods.

I was having this A masseges about eror with Skyui Only when i downloaded mods like Journal and the new one from ELSOPA im not sure why it is strange and im using Mod Organizer and all other UI mods works fine for me Except Thise new Retextures for SKY UI

I know your problem... You have too many esp files Skyrim can only support up to 215 esp files.

I had this issue. It vexed me to no end and could not see myself disabling or removing mods to get this to work although I very well would have. I got rid of all the *.swf files in the Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data\Interface directory - backed up of course and restarted the game. This worked! Thanks DemonLordNecross for the suggestion. Very much appreciated!

I would try this fix, but Vortex is managing the files in that directory and I can't figure out how to access them to delete the .swf files that are causing problems.
