GodEmprah
I am trying to install the armor replacer mod but Vortex installs it into a second Data folder within Skyrim's Data folder. It should be: \Skyrim\Data But instead Vortex put it into: \Skyrim\Data\Data Could I just place the files in the correct location myself and then delete the second data folder? AugustaCalidia
My guess is that the mod is not properly packaged. What mod is it? I would be glad to take a look at it. If it's not properly packaged, then you'll have to unzip it, make some adjustments, and then zip it for installation. In the meantime, do not try to manually correct the issue in the Skyrim data folder. That could lead to lots of problems. Rather, uninstall the mod, but leave the archive intact so that it can be repackaged.
Grestorn
I guess the mod is packed in an invalid way. What mod do you want to install? Other mods work fine? /edit: lol, I was too slow. Funny that we wrote almost exactly the same :)
GodEmprah
The mod in question is the Remodeled Armor for CBBE by ChronoTrigger77. Unfortunately it is not currently being worked on anymore. Is there a noob-friendly guide to repackage it?
Grestorn
Can't find that for Skyrim. Maybe you can just copy in the link to the mod page in here please?
GodEmprah
It has "Adult Content" so you need to be logged into Nexus. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/25259
Grestorn
Funny, the search didn't bring it up... I think if a mod has a fomod subdirectory, it must not have a Data subdirectory. That's probably confusing Vortex (NMM might even be able to deal with that). Solve this with the following trick: Install the mod, but don't enable it. Then, in the Mod Tab, right click the mod and select "Open in File Manager". An Explorer-Window will open and showing the mods contents. I guess you'll see a Data subdirectory there. Just copy everything from the Data directory into the mod's base directory. Then you should be able to enable the mod and Vortex should place it correctly. AugustaCalidia
@Grestorn Thank you for taking care of GodEmprah's problem. Excellent work! @GodEmprah You may want to zip your edited mod so that you can use that archive in the future to reinstall the mod. Use the edited archive to replace the archive currently in your Downloads folder.
