Guest deleted2588518
I`m a huge Daggerfall fan. I miss the grandeur and scope of High Rock's epic dungeons. I doubt Skyrim could support randomized dungeons so I`m not going to bother with requesting something on that kind of scale. But what would be awesome, and I believe anyone who spent any time in High Rock will remember the twisting, turning, labyrinthine sized dungeons that took hours, and in some cases... days to completely map out. What I would really like to see is a dungeon under places like Windhelm. Every major capital in High Rock has a large estate, palace or castle with an absolutely huge sprawling dungeon beneath it! A castle like Windhelm should at the very least have a dungeon or catacomb as well! So the Nord's don't have the same engineering prowess of say High Rock or Cyrodiil and obviously this is reflected in the many hovels and rocky holes across Skyrim's rugged mountain ranges. However Skyrim borders High Rock! Perhaps we could find a sprawling catacomb or dungeon on or close to the border!? I guess what I'm saying is that while I know the CK is out and I could more than likely do this myself... I don't have that... Artistic ability to make something that would be awesome. I remember what the dungeons were like in Daggerfall and they were epically scaled and treacherous! My abilities and understanding of the mod tools are highly limited. JanusForbeare
Heh, while we're at it, why don't we bring back the '90s attempt at 3d maps? http://www.dfworkshop.net/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/daggerfall-dungeon.jpg In all honesty though, I wouldn't mind seeing dungeons on this scale brought back. Odds are someone's working on something along those lines, both Oblivion and Morrowind had a few massive, sprawling dungeon mods. I can do without the 5 to 10 lever combination locks that open doors miles away and don't come with any clues, though! Grimoa
Woah. Intrigued by your image I googled "Daggerfall Scout" and found a page with various Daggerfall modding tools. :woot:
Dhegonus
yes, most games are quite linear in this day and age, makes them boring in a sense too... i am advancing my venator daemonus mod with a mass dungeon, it has a cave entrance which is rather linear, but the dungeon will hopefully be a tip of the hat in the 90's dungeons that usually took for ever to navigate. and dungeons can be tiny or huge in this game, the only restrictions really are that of the creativity of the mod makers, in fact you could make a seemingly endless dungeon using loads of cells if you had a lot of time on your hands.. it depends and comes down to how much time a mod maker is willing to put to a certain project. Guest deleted2588518
Agreed. I would really love to see someone who is just as nostalgic as I am about Daggerfall bring back just ONE of those massive dungeons!
TheKazz
I support this idea a completely truly massive dungeons with many branching paths and hidden treasures and puzzles (with clues preferably) would be awesome maybe even make one as some plane of oblivion type thing. Also add a few bottomless pits of death I don't know what it is about Bethesda and not having any sort of bottomless pits of death in any of their games but I feel like every good fantasy game needs a handful of well placed bottomless pits of death. That being said don't over do it bottomless pits of death should be use few and far between. Edited June 26, 2012 by TheKazz
Bloodshot12
+1. Daggerfalls dungeons may not have been easy to traverse, but I had so much fun doing it. Plus their size made them more intimidating and scary. It's why I'm looking forward to DaggerXL so much
Guest deleted2588518
http://xlengine.com/ I've been playing Daggerfall again in the new 3D environment. Have to say its just pure awesome! That being said, I'm really digging into the nexus to find a dungeon worthy of Daggerfall's dungeon size. I love crawling them! I've managed to find a few mods that drastically change the dungeon experience inside Skyrim. CLARALUX - <http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/17605> Dynavision - <http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/12525> Creepy Dungeons - <http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/12808> Realistic Lighting - <http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/7654> This drops the light levels inside dungeons to acceptable while not totally killing your vision. If there was one thing about Daggerfall that has been missing in its successors, its the very low lighting and darkness. That feeling that you just walked into a tomb that no one else has even seen in years if not decades. (except maybe that random necromancer... or a vampire.... XD ) So not that I have the look for the dungeons I want, I can't wait to find an epic crawler. Daggerfall style!
Rennn
I've always planned on making a few dungeons kind of like this. Idk when I'll get around to it with all the other stuff for life and Skyrim and Dark Souls I'm juggling right now.
