EnaiSiaion
The TES series does have a history of dubious female armors. Only in Skyrim it changed. Anyway, other than sensible armors (which I may do myself if I can find an opportunity) I'd like to see the "invisible force field" thing actually implemented as a real feature. At least someone who makes skimpy armor #2139213910 should consider adding an energy shield and heat source.
Moraelin
Even simple clothing can leave no doubting the wearer's femininity... I'd like to see this made http://www.dicingdangers.com/s/gallery/9/9343-lion-sorceress.jpg Actually, that looks like something you could mash up with a couple of pieces that exist around. Might need some recolouring to match, though. For example between the hood from the Crusader Priestess (or even a standard priestess hood) and the Skyrim cloaks, if you use the same colour on both, I'd say you'd get a passable hooded cloak. And for example the Triss Corset Retexture, well, isn't an exact match for what that sorceress is wearing under the hood, but I think it should do in a pinch. And that's something you don't even need NifSkope to do. You can simply wear all the pieces together.
Guest Messenjah
Yeah I agree. I've always felt that TES games really need some kind of roleplay with their outfits in general. Armor should always serve as armor and shouldn't be designed to be skimpy unless you are desert or jungle. I've always felt that clothing should have some kind of system that effects the player. For example, in mountain regions or regions with snow or that are generally frigged, if they wear lighter outfits/skimpy outfits, they should slowly take frost damage and possibly freeze up or it could slow them down. In extreme heat, they would want to wear lighter/skimpy clothing because the heat would drain their stamina and could cause them to pass out if they wear something really heavy. I also would love to see a system where you can use outfits as disguises like you could in Fallout: New Vegas. Not to mention a system of class, where you have to dress to please. For example, if you dress like a prostitute, the guards might let you off the hook more often or you might get discounts in certain areas, but higher class places might give you a cold shoulder. Some places, you might want to dress fancier than others in order to get better responses out of certain npcs etc. Honestly, bare midriffs/bare shoulders only look good on an assassin or a dancer for armor. Not on a warrior of any sort. Bikins never make good armor and just look silly to be honest. The only thing I don't like about the default outfits/armor for females is that everything comes with a skirt. Why cant they have any outfits with pants? Maybe it wasn't true of real life but it is a fantasy game and it seems that the women in this game are out fighting too lol. So why do all the female armors/clothes have skirts? I would rather see them use a bit tighter pants that look sleeker and more feminine. Not an ugly armored/leather skirt. In fact, most of the men armors have this effect as well. :\
13rimstone
Actually, that looks like something you could mash up with a couple of pieces that exist around. Might need some recolouring to match, though. And I would love to, but despite my past experience with modding, I despair of ever getting a proper mesh exported out of Max, and Blender's interface seems to be designed to confuse. I had the idea of combining this version of Ashara's corset with this roguish variant to replace the shirt scrap, but just wearing them together gives you this because the individual models have too much body attached: Unfortunately, the real life of being a single parent doesn't leave the free time I enjoyed when I did a total conversion mod for Tribes2, or custom content for Natural Selection, and within that limited time, I haven't gotten the complexities of the export process down. Indeed, for all of Bethesda's talk of encouraging modding, it seems inconsistent that the export process is so horribly complicated, and the available tools so limited. Grimoa
Apart from the clipping that looks awesome.I guess it would be possible to delete the body from one of the mods in nifskope.

Actually most mash-ups I've been talking about are just copy-and-paste affairs in NifSkope, not editing meshes in Blender. But, as I was saying, for the cloak + hood combo I was proposing there, you don't even need NifSkope. You just need to recolour them to the same material and colour in whatever graphics editor you're comfortable with, and just wear them together in the game. 13rimstone
Actually, you do need to mod the mesh itself, at least as far as I can see. The clipping in the legs- and some in the shoulders that you can't see in the pose- are the result of overlapping portions. I already deleted the torso mesh from the leather section in Nifskope, but the corset has a full body mesh from the neck down. In order to make it work, the arms from the shoulders out and the legs from mid-hip down need to be deleted. I don't see in nifskope how you delete or hide a part of a mesh. As in teh leather portion, in one nif there may be multiple individual mesh sections that can be hidden or deleted, but manipulating individual vertexes (vertexii? lol) requires something more than Nifskope... unless I've really missed something. If the body mesh from the corset is hidden and the one from the leather used, there is really bad clipping in teh chest, and removing both makes the body invisible. Anyway, I have no issues importing the meshes into Max and making my edits... it's getting anything back out that's problematic...
Moraelin
Well, for what you're trying to do there, yes. I was talking about the specific mix I had been talking about.

Guest Messenjah
You know, if I ever figure out how to get clothing to export from Blender, that would be easy to fix with it's copy weights script and a little bit of tweaking. :P
