Deleted48155638User Posted November 19, 2018 Posted November 19, 2018 Hello! Not long ago I decided to buy a gaming PC to experience Skyrim in high performance, but that was not to be.It boots up the game by the speed of sound, but right at the main menu (when the smoke appears) the fps drops down to 2-5. I've tried other games, newer, but it's the same problem. The start menu is at 50 and then in-game the performance dies.At this point I'm suspecting a bad combination for my PC or that it's some sort of setting somewhere. Another thing I did notice when I looked around the details is that I have 0GB dedicated VRAM. But I want some advise from others who know better about these things so, any help is appreciated. :) My specs: CPU: Intel Core i3-8350kCPU Cooler:DEEPCOOL GAMMAXX 200TGPU: GeForce GTX 1060 Dual 6GBRAM: 8GBOC: Windows 10SSD: Kingston 120GB A400HDD: WB Blue1000GBCase: Antec P8 Performance
HeyYou Posted November 19, 2018 Posted November 19, 2018 (edited) Processor is weak for a 'gaming' PC....... an i3????? You should be able to upgrade that without changing the system board..... an i5, or i7 would certainly wake it up. Edited November 19, 2018 by HeyYou

I do not consider that a 'gaming' cpu....... considering it rates worse than a THIRD gen i5........
jabberslops Posted November 20, 2018 Posted November 20, 2018 (edited) Have a look here. I do not consider that a 'gaming' cpu....... considering it rates worse than a THIRD gen i5........ So you consider a score that is an average of all the scores of the CPU benchmark from Passmark to be an actual indicator of how well it can play games? Passmark doesn't test games, so I guess actual benchmarks done with actual games means nothing to you. By your own standards I could post this and you lose your own argument. Any person could search for benchmarks on the i3-8350k and see it is a good gaming CPU. Edited November 20, 2018 by jabberslops

It's intels low-level (but, not lowest) processor. I build machines for a living, and even my least informed customers would look at me sideways, and walk out, if I suggested an i3 for a gaming machine. The price/performance value simply isn't there. Deleted48155638User Posted November 21, 2018 Author Posted November 21, 2018 Hello I want to thank you all so much for the help! I got it working now as it should. At last, Skyrim in HD!
xrayy Posted January 5, 2019 Posted January 5, 2019 (edited) i can confirm that my old config with my even slower i5 6600k @ 4,6 ghz, 16gb ram and my 1060 6gb was fully capable of heavyly modded skyrim in 1080p. so an overclocked i3-8350k is absolutely ok if you run no other tasks. have fun playing! watsson7278 Posted May 23, 2019 Posted May 23, 2019 This is the same problem that I have also suffered from with my PC and what I did is update the system and reset it to make it faster. For more suggestions, visit epson error code 0xf3. Hope it will help you a lot.
