BourgeoisBanana
Hi guys, I'm really hoping one of you will be able to lend a hand. I'm doing the quest 'Long Time Coming' with Nick and have reached the part where he stops being your companion and you're supposed to follow him through Andrew Station. Unfortunately he got stuck right at the entrance and keeps trying to walk into a wall. I managed to lure him down to the lower levels by making the police protectron hostile which worked for a bit, as he kept moving as normal until we reached the boxing ring in the cave system. There's two levels here, with the correct path being the upper ledge and the lower level not leading anywhere; again, Nick keeps walking into walls on the lower level trying to get to the upper part. I managed to shove him to the upper level but he keeps running back down because his routing thinks it's quicker I guess? I've tried luring him up with the raiders in the room above but it doesn't work. Shooting him, leaving the cell, waiting and disabling all mods don't seem to work either. I'm assuming it's a problem with the cell's navmesh or something. I've googled and it seems like this is a fairly common problem, but all the fixes I've seen are for PC. Does anyone have any advice for how to get him unstuck and back on the proper route? Thanks.
jdrfox
Do you have a quest tracker that tracks down Nick? Usually, fast travelling somewhere, then going back to an actor sort of 'syncs' the actor's pathing.
JimmyRJump
Just continue on your own. The game will zap Nick to your side when you're getting too far away from him. At least, that's what usually happens in my case when doing quests with an NPC/companion. When doing the quest to retrieve the transmitter from ArcJet with Danse, on several occasions I had Danse going on a walkabout at the start or halfway through the quest. Danse gets zapped at your side when taking an elevator or changing cells. I guess the same will happen with Nick.

The problem is he stops being a companion during this part of the quest, you're meant to follow him. I tried walking to the keypad but he wouldn't teleport. Thanks though. The issue actually seemed to fix itself after I ragequit and loaded the save again today, he just turned around and started on the correct route - who knows what his problem was. So... issue solved, I guess? Edited November 20, 2018 by BourgeoisBanana

The player has to follow Danse but he sometimes keeps buggering off to never-never land, to reappear at certain intervals when you need to speak to him or when changing cells.
