Sylvaniax
Hi all, I haven't used this in a very long time and I used to have NMM when I did mods. But now with vortex I'm having a LOT of issues. I manually downloaded vortex onto my a: driver since my c drive is full. When I tried downloading, it kept saying I had no space and realized it was downloading to my C drive. I tried changing my download and mods folder and yet nothing is working to actually get it changed over to my hard drive. Is there anything I can do to fix this? I've been stumped for 5 days and I really want to replay skyrim with some mods.
sopmac45
Vortex needs to be installed in the same disk your game is. You said you manually installed Vortex in your A disk but I am guessing that your game is installed in your C drive, isn't ? The default drive where Steam installs games is the C drive and Vortex must be also on the same drive and it won't take that much of space by the way. Grestorn
@sopmac: No, Vortex doesn't need to installed on the same drive. It should be installed on c: in the default location. Only the mod staging path needs to be on the same drive as the game. The download path can be anywhere, however.

Sylvaniax
My game's also on A: drive (I use c drive for windows only) but every time I change the directory for the mods and downloads it still downloads to c drive even though vortex is only in A It's getting super frustrating :pinch:
Grestorn
On A:? Are you sure? I don't think you can use A: in Windows. But honestly, I've never tried. The download directory is set here: This can be set onto ANY disk drive (doesn't have to be the place the game is installed to). Vortex saves the downloaded archives there. The mod staging path is where the mods are installed to (unpacked, FOMOD installer started). This must be on the same disk drive as the game, but outside of the game directory:
Sylvaniax
Okay so I made sure my mod deployment folder was in the same folder as my skyrim (it keeps resetting every time I close out of Vortex) This is what it shows me https://prnt.sc/lmubxuhttp://prntscr.com/lmucmy
Olivir2019
All downloaded mods do not go to folder on Mods tab, but on Download tab. By default, this folder is on the disk where User folders are (usually C:). Is your SSE installation really on A:? I guess so, as you said that before. I believe this Skyrim Mods folder is a new one, not something created by any other program (like Steam, Wrye Bash etc.)? I am sorry, but I am out of ideas - as I have never seen a A: disk (and without system) anyway.

You mentioned your C drive is full. Is Skyrim SE installed there? If yes, then the mod staging folder would need to be on C as well. If you do not have enough space, either clear up space for the mod staging folder on C, or reinstall Skyrim SE on A:. I am afraid with Bethesda games where symlink is not an option there is nothing else you could do.
