Bodyslide shows up emtpy

Hi All,

First off, I've been away for a while so my last modding experience is using Nexusmods from last year. Was surprised to see that there was this new Vortex mod manager, so I decided to use it. SO I reinstall my Fallout 4 GOTY from Steam. Run it for the first time to get my ini files started and then start modding it.

After installing some of the quality of life mods for Fallout 4, I then install CBBE and BodySlide. Now, my problem is bodyslide doesn't display anything when I open it.

CBBE works fine, however, for the life of me, I couldn't get Bodyslide to display anything when I open it when I want to apply my CBBE preset to the CBBE clothing that I downloaded. So far I've tried uninstalling bodyslide and CBBE and even gone far to reinstall all mods. Have I missed anything?

I've checked other topics to be sure. I've made sure that there's the archive invalidated thing enabled as well.

Any help would be appreciated. Also, do you guys need extra info from me like my load order? I just use the automatic sorting on Vortex to deal with it. I have Steam and all my games installed in their default locations including Vortex.

Thanks in advance!

yeah, Same thing. nothing showing up in bodyslide. people just skip right to telling you just drop the outfit or preset done and a way you go. not listening. there is nothing to drop down. it needs a button on top like file or something that you can just click go to where it is and load it up. easy peasy but no you just have to hope it loads them up and when it doesnt nobody has a solution. crazy frustrating. i dont even care about changing anything i just want pyhsics added. if it wasnt for that i wouldnt even deal with it. grab cbbe curvy add physics see ya. no go. can somebody please start from the VERY beginning and explain what to do to get them to show up besides 7 thousand videos showing us how to download them. they are downloaded i know where they are but they dont show up. Why? and what to do to fix it. simple question can somebody please provide a simple answer. thank you

So Ciee, I started looking around all my files and seen that i had bodyslide installed in about 4 different places. i tried starting it through vortex- no go. i also had it in data\vortex- no go. i also had it installed in a spot right where i had cbbe and other mods. no-go. lol. last but not least i had it where i think it goes if you dont change where it goes- steam\apps\common\data\tools\bodyslide. now i havent totally tested it yet cause i wanted to get back for you quicker just in case its the same thing for you. but started from there the built in presets for cbbe are there now. so i know in the directions it mentions to go there but i think i already told vortex mods were to go somewhere else cause i already had it set up that way, so it didn't even dawn on me to look there. a lot of times people tell you where to put something to avoid confusion cause some people really don't know what theyre doing but most times as long as everything ends up in same place no big deal. like steam for example- it wanted all my steam files in drive :c but it wasn't big enough so I set it up in drive :f. no problem, worked fine. well not this. so for people who REALLY don't have a lot of computer experience for this program by the looks of it absolutely 100% has to go to steam\steamapps\common\fallout4\data\tools\bodyslide. no exceptions!! from what I can tell( not 100% sure) it makes no difference at all where your addons or other mods are you use in bodyslide (mine are all over the place- at least 3-4 different places and it loaded all them up. hope this helps. Now if you want to know how to actually use it- wrong person. lol

Thanks for the input. I really appreciate it.

That's really odd. I have all my mods and Fallout 4 installations all on default settings so I though it would be no problem. I do have experience with CBBE in the past back when it first came out for Fallout 4, but I was using Nexus Mod Manager back then. I figure that maybe Vortex is just finicky at best

And yeah you're right. I totally overlooked this everything at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4\Data\Tools\BodySlide works like a charm.

Thanks for the help!

Thanks people. Had this problem too. Didn't remember ever having it when I used NMM for ages, but after recently reinstalling everything I decided to go with Vortex. And Vortex was just like a certain ex. Looked great. Had problems. Didn't work like my old one.

Also got tired of people not paying attention to the question asked looking at first search results. Lucky I found this thread.

Thanks again.

I had similar issue, knowing bodyslide and used it regularily on NMM, but after Vortex took over it wouldnt work.
I will attach a link that takes you to my post, in which i try my best to fully describe what the issue is, and what the fix is, hoping that it gives some experience for new people to the modding.

I hope this helps out.

I just ran into this and scoured the web until I found this post. I had Vortex pointed to C:\Users\{myname}\AppData\Roaming\Vortex\fallout4\mods\BodySlide and Outfit Studio - v5.0.7-25-5-0-7-1591033836\Tools\BodySlide. Saw the post above about pointing it to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4\Data\Tools\BodySlide and now it all works.
