tetradite
Yeah, the Finnish are all kinds of crazy. Quiet-crazy too, the most dangerous kind :D Splitting Europe up in this way is difficult though. As soon as you add Northern Europe, are Germans, Dutch, Scandanavians and Brits Northern or Western? If both options are there I'd say Northern. If you add Southern Europe, are the Spanish Western or Southern? Are the Greeks Eastern or Southern? Western/Eastern is usually used as a split relative to the cold war and now (largely) defunct politics.. Northern/Southern is usually used as defining the (alleged) biggest "cultural" split. You literally can't win with splitting up Europe. Edited July 9, 2012 by tetradite
northernpaladin
When splitting up Europe, the thing that separates Northern Europe from the rest is the Baltic Sea, but I'd say that the best way to divide Europe in our time would be:A) Countries in the European UnionB) Countries not in the European Union. There's no East/West split like in the Cold War days, but the question about EU is todays major political difference But thats not the point of this thread, so let's leave it at that so we won't derail it too much. (Literally, you can't win by splitting Europe Ribbentrop-Molotow pact )

(Literally, you can't win by splitting Europe Ribbentrop-Molotow pact ) Lol, yes will not argue about how to divide, because as we both agree you can't win :D I love the circular and linked nature of history. Ribbentrop-Molotov pact - named for the foreign ministers who signed it.....(Molotov being the Russian one....)His name is where we get the Molotov in "Molotov Cocktail", invented by the Finnish during the war you posted the stats on earlier...
