how to update skyrim on steam

Having trouble trying to update skyrim special edition. rolled it back to the 1.5.53.0 awhile when there wasn't a updated skse64 for the latest update but was still having trouble so stopped playing so i can focus on college. now that I wanna play again though it would seem that the game never updated when i reinstalled it. does anyone know how i can update it on steam? it keeps popping my mods up saying that they were intended for the latest game so confused how the mods seemed to update but not the game.

1.5.53.0 IS the current version, so there was no rolling back in the first place.

 

Just download the newest SKS64 and the mods that require it

ok thank you that explains why i couldn't find anything online. Ill try redownloading the mods maybe I downloaded the wrong version or something. SKSE64 actually works fine just some mods refuse to work saying they needed a different version

I thought there was going to be an update to report yesterday. I accidentally launched SE while online in steam, and it started the download message, but it turned out my .exe wasn't changed and none of my masters need cleaning, so I have no idea what it actually downloaded, but it doesn't appear to have been an update.
