New Page Layout Looks Terrible - Hard to Read

I have absolutely nothing nice what so ever to say about this. It just looks messy, disorganized and cluttered etc. In fact it's so horribly bad it will prevent me from ever visting the site again untill the good ol' layout is back, which is a shame because I like the nexus. (No, that not a threat or "do this or I quit" statement, I'm just telling how I feel)

Let us chose between the old layout and the new garbage in our personal settings.

/Edit/ I forgot to say, and I think I speak for a lot of people, if I wanted to read the comments (which now days have a tendency to be uninteresting to read, so to speak) I would do so through the comment section of the forums.

I hate the new design as well...

Please revert, or at least give me a possibility to turn off the new design. I really don't want all these meaningless comments cluttering up the Page.

I've had quite enough of these so called "social networking" features elsewhere - I don't want them there and certainly not here. I've always liked the Nexus, but if

this doesn't change you'll drive me away...

Before you ever change a site layout, look towards Google for guidance. Their main feature is a search engine, and when you go to the Google website, there is a search bar smack-dab in the middle of the page. Anything else is out of the way, but still available. The point is to get the highest amount of traffic to do what they came to do as fast and efficient as possible.

This new website layout is less efficient and unnecessary compared to the previous. 'Site News' even somehow doesn't display correctly, because there is an invisible... wall? It seems to me rushed and untested.

The previous site layout was more efficient in doing what the majority of your traffic came here to do, which is to find and download and/or upload mods. You have taken a step back in doing so, and gone the route of, what appears to me, yet-another-social-site. This is not facebook. This is also a reason many gamers hate Call of Duty, because many other game companies tried too hard to copy it, alienating their own fanbases while doing so to attract children who shouldn't be playing M-rated games in the first place.

We want this site to stay, and we want to see it prosper. Don't make it harder on us and yourselves.

Since I have used Skyrim Nexus before, I could find what I wanted because I was familiar on how to find it.

But if I was a new user, I can easily confuse it to the point that the mod site is empty of content..Because the feeds page comes into the spotlight as soon as you open up the default page and it doesn't show up whats the most happening news (whats alive).

Actually its still appears to be a bit chaotic even for me, because I completely missed the 'Hot Files', 'Latest Files' and 'Latest Images'; only going directly for the mods I wanted to check up. Usually I use to check up all of them before I went on to the mods I wanted to check (track) manually.

Honestly, I kinda missed checked up any of the latest elements which came up in the above sections today..and was directly reading into post of some of the mods I was tracking <- Which also only showed the latest comments and updates for the mods, which is in descending order according to timeline, completely missing up the older mods I had tracked (which did not have any updated comments or updates as the other mod's).

It is also very non-curious-tic (I don't know the actually word to describe) to scroll down the page to actually see the 'Hot Files', 'Latest Files' and 'Latest Images', but it is curious and very likable read news or posts such way (which was how it was before)

I actually thought somebody hacked the site and made it look screwed up. Plus why the double post (see pic)? IMHO change it back to how it was.. it looks hokey the way it is and is hard to read and navigate. Edited by NodTuGud

Vote me up as one of the many others who don't like the new layout either.

To be honest, I don't mind the tabs, I would just like to be able to set a default tab. I don't want to see every little comment on the 5 or 6 files I'm tracking every time I visit the page, especially since some users have quite annoying avatars (I went on New Vegas Nexus, and someone has one of the most annoying gifs for an avatar I've ever seen). I'd rather have it default to site news or something.

Also, I don't know if it's on my end only, but Skyrim Nexus looks like a massive mess right now.

You can set a default tab in your preferences. If you do a hard refresh of the page a few times (press Ctrl+F5) it should fix the page looking wrong.

Ah. Much obliged.

I'm still a bit iffy on the overall look (seems a bit empty), but otherwise, it's not too bad.

Please don't use the actual layout. Maybe the Design is not that bad, but it's hard to find your way. Before the change i went to the skyrim nexus and the first thing i saw was the newest mods, the mods in the focus and down below news about the mod sanctuary and site updates. It was PERFECT. It was just one look and I got everything i wanted.

Feeds are good, but usually you put Feeds on a special page. You will never ever see a good page putting the "news feed" simply and unstructured at the front page.

If you insist on this way, then please do something with the structure. Perhaps something like a spacer after each news and something like a header. At the moment it's like chaos everywhere. It's like Google stops putting the search in the front, but showing you news.google at the main page, but unordered and plain-list-like.

At least, make it optional. Can't be that hard to make two CSS files.
