Enchantment Reload Bug with Morrowind?

Hi everyone,

Been playing through a modded install of Morrowind that I put together a couple months back, and I'm running into a weird issue. Sometimes, when I load a save game, some of my enchanted gear - it seems only to be things that I've selected before - will have their enchantment meters depleted to -1. There's no rhyme or reason to it, as far as I can tell, and it's kind of a crapshoot as to whether or not it'll happen when I load my game. Once it happens, though, it sticks - which is a huge problem for my gear with high enchantment meters.

Honestly, I'm not sure if it's a mod issue, but my game is pretty heavily modded, so I'm posting it here. Does anyone have any insight into this? I can post my LO if necessary.

Remember, posting a LO is always necessary, otherwise people cannot help you with your issue.

What he said, what did you do when it happen?

Was it directly after you installed a mod or was it after you uninstalled a mod?

Sorry, for asking many questions, but we have no idea what happen unless you tell us what actually happen.

Try to repair your gamesave in Wrye Mash. You use Wrye Mash, right.

If not then get it here and extract it into where you want it (yes, I know you can do that) then right click on the Wrye Mash.exe and send it as a shortcut to desktop.

Hello to both of you, and sorry for the late response - the Nexus wasn't sending me any notifications.

Here is my Load Order:

I don't remember when the problem appeared. I remember modding the game a long time ago, but never playing it. So, for all intents and purposes, I suppose we could say that I modded all at once.

As for whether or not it happened after installing or uninstalling a mod: I'm not totally sure. I know that when I was initially modding the game months ago, I probably uninstalled a few mods here and there. Also, it's worth mentioning (since this isn't including in my LO), but I'm using "Enchanted item cooldown," "Enchanted item rebalance," and "Item recharging rebalance," which are provided by the MCP.

No worry on the questions - I'm sorry that I didn't provide enough information initially. And yes, I do have Wyre Mash. I will try repairing my gamesave.

Thank you both for replying and, again, sorry for the late reply. I'll try and provide more information in my initial posts from now on and cover some more of my bases beforehand. If any of you have any thoughts on this, I would really appreciate it.

That's not a loadorder, instead it is a list of installed mods listed in the "[Game Files]" section in Morrowind.ini.

What you need to do is to download mlox and sort your loadorder. Just make sure you use the latest mlox rules and mlox needs to use that in order to sort a loadorder.

After you sorted your loadorder right click on the right pane then click on copy and paste it into your post in this thread. Always, use the spoiler tag as it tends to be rather long.

Hm, I assumed everything was in the same order that I had it through mlox. I use it regularly, but I didn't resort for this because it wants to put Graphic Herbalism a couple slots up, and it only seems to work for me if have it lower. But, all the same, here's my mlox load order:

Hey everyone, a quick update: I've done some more playtesting, and it only seems to be happening to enchanted items that are equipped on my character. Items not equipped will recharge normally; however, having them equipped and then reloading the save game will cause them to be depleted to -1 upon load.

Well, I posted about this on Morrowind Mods Reddit as well, and NullCascade commented on my post saying it was an issue with the nightly build of MWSE, and to go ahead and run the updater. I've done that, so when I get the chance to play again I'll test to make sure it's fixed, and then post again on here for confirmation. Thank you for your help, everyone!

UPDATE: The aforementioned solution is, indeed, a solution to the issue.

I would advice you not to use MPP 1.6.6 as it has a dirty edit and besides a lot of quests is gonna be stucked in your journal for the rest of the game, unless you use the console to finish those stucked quests.

I once tested MPP 1.6.6 and quite frankly I actually stop using as it seems unfinished to me and went back of using MPP 1.6.3 aka ThePal's last UMP.

Sure, you can either use MPP 1.6.4 or MPP 1.6.5 up to MPP 1.6.5c since MPP 1.6.5d has a dirty edit as well, which is basically the same as it is for MPP 1.6.6. I know this as I once started the UMP project over at TAL.

IIRC The GDR mod needs to be loaded last of the esm, should there be another mod that also have dwemer ruins and TR has dwemer ruins.

You need to remove these two hotfixes for TR 17.09, if you already use the latest TR 18.07.
