StratGuy
Hi, I'd appreciate a bit of help.... I played Skyrim a lot when it came out and then let it sit on my hard drive. I've got an "ok" gaming rig by today's standards...not uber. I am looking for an easy to install mod collection that would - 1. make crafting more hardcore i.e. make it impossible to level up by crafting daggers!2. make overall experience more hardcore (even on master level the original was too easy).3. add "variety" for example maybe new quests, monsters, items, locations... I'm not a graphics nerd and dont think my pc could handle graphics "upgrade" packages. Also I don't have the time to spend hours tweaking and jumping through loads of steps to install loads of updates. Please help point me in the right direction - it would be really appreciated! apearson159
I'd be interested in knowing if there are modpacks for skyrim? Just a combo of mods that are known to work with each other

woody79
To get the best experience and "variety" you are looking for will take multiple mods.I am like you, felt vanilla Skyrim was too easy with too many 'exploits' to level your character so after a lot of searching, trial and error I settled on a combo of mods that work well together and added the difficulty and variety I was looking for: ACE http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/10037/ASIShttp://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/18436Duel - Combat Realismhttp://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/2700Deadly Dragonshttp://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/3829 for the "variety" part your looking for I recommend:Moonpath to Elsweyr http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/9782 Also, you can get the uncapper which allows you to tweak every part of the character leveling system to your likinghttp://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/1175 All above mods I use and easy to install as author has given detailed instructions of usage. The time it takes to install/tweak above mods is well worth it. Playing on Adept difficulty with above mods is wayyy more challenging than vanilla and Master difficulty. StratGuy
Thanks! I will check these out... ...I just installed a bunch of mods and used BOSS to sort them....have played through a couple of hours and no crashes or issues and the game looks freaking awesome! I'll post a list tomorrow after work so you veterans can give a quick glance down and let me know if you spot any glaring incompatibilities! Diablo 3 is now dead and will not suck any more of my time. Can't believe I didn't start playing Skyrim earlier!

StratGuy
Hmmm strange....I'd played for 3 hours with no issues....then added the enhanced needs mod. Was in Whiterun and the game immediately exited to the desktop. Is there a log file anywhere that could point to what the issue is?
