Try this one http://www.tweakguides.com/Oblivion_1.html

This is likely where the maker of the STEP guide got his info from.

There are Tweakguides for Oblivion, Skyrim, Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas and many other games. As well as for graphics cards and Operating systems. It has been around for years

Here is the main site http://www.tweakguides.com/

There's knots guide http://www.somethingfornobody.com/2011/oblivion-modding-guide/ which is pretty good.

Naturally, you don't have to get every thing, If you find a mod you prefer you can use it instead. I'm also not much of a fan for his Timestamp method. I prefer using Archive Invalidation Invalidated files. Also note that FCOM is old, it conflict with many mods and authors don't give support for it any more but it is apparently very good if you manage to install it.

Here's my mod list if it interest you.

It's a bit old because I haven't played Oblivion since Skyrim came out.

Now that Oblivion is pretty much obsolete, Could someone, or some group, PLEASE for the love of god just take all the best mods ever made for it covering all aspects of the game, and merge them into one massive overhaul mod with an installer to allow customizing of it ??? Forget people who don't have good gaming rigs, if they can't play Oblivion by now they aren't serious gamers and don't count. Any modern gaming PC made in the last 5 years should be able to play Oblivion modded to the max NO PROBLEM. But having to spend an entire day or two trying to mod it all manually and then troubleshooting to get the game to work is a bloody nightmare... We have the technology people... I have no clue how to write mods, but I know there are some seriously talented members in these forums who could do this in a few months if they group up. Oblivion still has many awesome features like spell crafting and a completely open skill system. No Skill tree BS... I honestly prefer it to the system implemented in Skyrim. For those like me who loved Oblivion, please help us out!

  1. Oblivion is far from Obsolete. New mods are still coming out.
  2. Mod compilations aren't allowed because they are impossible to keep up to date and have a lot of permissions issues. Also, those who made the original mods end up getting no credit for their work.
  3. Mods are a personal choice and no list of mods can possibly suit everybody.
  4. Some mods took several years to create - don't expect any sympathy from modders if spending a day or two installing them is too much work.
  5. Many of the best mods were made by people on ten-year-old computers. Your elitist attitude has probably offended many of these modders.

Oscuro's did it years ago.. Why can't it be done again? many mods have halted and many modders have gone on to bigger and better games.

Of course there are some that are still being made, but I'm talking about the main ones that are not being updated anymore that are almost all necessary, Like the mods to correct the horrible UI system, and the hud, and the bad textures and bugs and quest glitches and poor dialogue, etc.. like all the unofficial patches.. that stuff could be merged into one modular mod so that people don't have to scour the net looking for them all. Half of which I can't even remember the names of...

As i said, i am not a modder, and it was merely a suggestion. Also, I am far from an elitist given that i'm still running a 7 year old system with a GTX 275 GPU. And I still feel there are many mods that are no longer being worked on, which could be re-written and/or organized into a single installer to save many people much time and hassle. And i'm sure i would not be the only one happy for it.

Remember, suggestions are just suggestions.. you don't have to take personal offense. I am quite sure any modders who I may have offended are big boys who can stand up for themselves. ;)
