Download with Manager does not work

So I've downloaded the Nexus Mod Manger and installed a few of the top 25 (all-time) mods like Immersive Armors / Cloaks of Skyrim / SkyUI etc etc and they all work just fine. I have 8 Mods installed so far and they're all working as far as I can tell.

Now I'm trying to install more mods like Skyrim Monster Mod for example and when I click on the button Download with Manager .... Nothing happens. I mean when I click on the button Download with Manager literally nothing happens.

So I started trying to use the Download with Manager button on different mods to see if maybe it was just a glitch on the Skyrim Monster Mods page. So I try Convenient Horses / Elaborate Textiles / UFO and a few of the other mods on the top 25 All-Time list and every single Download with Manager button when clicked NOTHING HAPPENS!

I've restarted my computer twice. I've reloaded the webpage a dozen times. I've googled the issue and haven't found a solution.

My NMM is 0.18.9

My Skyrim is 1.6

Please help

are you using internet explorer? if so, try firefox or google chrome

I am using the latest version of Firefox

I should have mentioned this but I used the NMM and the Download with Manager button to download & install all of my current mods that are working and now for whatever reason the Download with Manager button has stopped working.

There is no interference of any kind that I'm aware of concerning my anti-virus firewall McAfee thingy either. I have received no warning messages or threats detected or anything of that sort.

Its like yesterday it was working ... now its not.

okay.. try this little trick, sometimes it works for many things..

open internet explorer, go to tools -> internet options -> advanced -> then in the "reset internet explorer settings and click "Reset".. then close all internet windows and then open up firefox and see if it has worked.

I had the same problem, and the solution was rather simple. You don't have to uninstall and all.

I'll leave it here for posterity, since this post appears in google results when searching 'Nexus Mod Manager "download with manager" does not work'.

I'm used to uncheck all things in installers to reduce registry entries added and avoid adware installed, but if you get used to that too often, you might end up forgetting about reading, and get problems like these.

So simply start the installer again, and DO NOT uncheck the system association options.

If that does not work, also make sure you have all browsers closed and not in memory (check Task Manager).

If that does not work, also run the installer as an admin.

If that does not work, also reboot the system after doing it.

If that does not work, then there's something wrong in your system. It should work.

After I performed the install leaving the system associations option checked, all browsers started seeing the Nexus mods mime types and starting the program for downloads.

By the way, I think the installer should have a warning with some red letters and an Accept/Cancel message box to make it clear that leaving those unchecked will mean that you won't be able to use the 'browser integration' feature.
