cbeau Posted December 22, 2018 Share Posted December 22, 2018 (edited) Just updated NMM to 0.65.9 because I had some problems blocking me from manually sorting plugins (I would just use vortex but my SSD is almost full, and from what I read, Vortex needs to duplicate my mods in order to migrate them over, so I can't without re-downloading everything). So I updated NMM, then started to sort. I got as far as I could with the guide I was using, and now I cannot start a new game. It just hangs on the main screen stuck in infinite loading. There's a big mess of 2LM and MPAM esp's because at one point I thought I knew how to set it all up, but then realized the 2LM combined patch didn't work (so I keep the 2LM deactivated and will activate them as I find my mod power armors and use them.) I have no idea yet if the MPAM is working for me, so I'll find out sooner or later. Also had no idea where to put WIPAG and the like. Much of my CROSS mods can't be moved. Had no clue where to put companions. A few other things I can't really sort until I figure out where the rest go. The RotC individual settlement plugins I planned on only having one activated at a time just until I completely level up that settlement, and will then activate the next settlement I want built. I also noticed just now that I haven't moved my Fortaleza plugins down to my other armor mods yet, which I plan to do. I do have a pre-war save but I'm not sure if it's a good idea to use it because I've added and removed a few mods since then. But my main issue right now is that I can't start a new game. LOOT isn't showing any problems. Deleted58783396User Posted December 23, 2018 Share Posted December 23, 2018 for a start i strongly recommend creating a bash patch download wrye bash here: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/20032 install it - run it - on the left pane window, scroll right to the very bottom, right click on bashed patch,0 and click on "Rebuild Patch" the Bashed patch,0 Should Always be the Very Last Mod in your Load Order. 2. you can delete rfortazela mk1 through to mk8 - pauldrons, and suit, if you have downloaded the merge patch from the mod, you only need the merge patch and armorsmith extended, deleting these will not only remove redundants but also restore harddrive space. 3. legendarymodification mod is made redundant by Armorsmith extended, recommend deleting it, to eliminate potential conflicts. (i assume that is the case, i could of course be wrong on this, but i am pretty sure the latest version of armorsmith extended does what the legendary modificiation mod does, or it may even be AWKCR) thats all i can think of at the moment. as for the pre-war save, it depends if you have any mods that start right from new game. specifically scripted mods, could cause problems, but its worth a shot nontheless. cbeau Posted December 25, 2018 Author Share Posted December 25, 2018 (edited) I ended up discovering that the issue was being caused by mods that give you a holotape the moment you start a new game (anyone experiencing this issue, just disable everything you have that isn't required for character creation, start a new game, exit the vault, save, then enable all of your desired mods. Worth a try, works for me.) Others also claimed that pushing enter, E, or even T has unstuck their new game start, but this did not work for me! Pertaining to the Fortaleza and Armorsmith, where would the merge get the Fortaleza files from? Wouldn't this cause CTD? I've used quite a few merged patches in the past, and they've all required that I download the original files, install them, and deactivate their esp's. Also I can't find the 2LM patches I would need to just use Armorsmith, as the ones I want for armor and PA require Legendary Modification's 2LM bench. Maybe I just need to look harder? Idk. I'm also considering just leaving MPAM alone. I'm thinking 2LM will already make my PA overpowered. Furthermore, I've started from scratch again and am now using Vortex. Enjoying it so far. I appreciate the help! Hopefully this is all helpful to anyone else who has experienced this issue. Not a fix in sight, but an effective work around.
