ShadowMosesWolf
So, I recently came back to this game that I havent touched in years, and the last time I tried to mod it on PC, was when my PC was a potato, effectively. Since then, I came back and wanted to do another playthrough of the game, I started to install mods and I keep getting the same error that AddIns.xml is not found. I go check and sure enough its there, just under a .symlink file extension. Vortex keeps complaining it cant deploy the mods because of this. This is via Steam DA:O if that is of any help. What I've tried:1. Making another AddIns.xml, then reinstalling my mods. It does not do anything except change my created .xml to .symlink and make Vortex complain. 2. Reinstalling the game. Same issues.I am not experienced in Dragon Age Modding whatsoever, and I fully expect issues trying to run a modern modding program for an archaic game. If anyone has anything else to help, I'd be appreciative.
theskymoves
See this discussion: Vortex breaking DAO Ultimate Edition (Origins version)... I believe that info on Vortex/DAO is still current.
ShadowMosesWolf
See this discussion: Vortex breaking DAO Ultimate Edition (Origins version)... I believe that info on Vortex/DAO is still current.I had seen that earlier, was hoping that was not the case/has since been addressed. Its a shame though, because Vortex does state that it works with DAO.
soulspyre
Sigh. How hard is it to fix a bug like this?

Pickysaurus
We are currently internally testing the fix for DA:O if it works out it should be in the next major update.

mon21
Oh thank goodness I was about to go nuts with this! What a relief that it's a new issue. I was worried there for a second. Thanks for your help!
BigBizkit
The version of Vortex addressing this issue is 0.17.0. Anyone curious enough to try it out is more than welcome to do so. 0.17.1 is currently on the testing branch.
Zarqualyn
Version 0.17.3, 3 versions later then promised... No fix. Or I'm doing something wrong. Getting tired of this. Maybe I shouldn't post right now, but it really bothers me. Everything downloads perfectly, then when I start installing and Enabling, everything seems fine, although Vortex keeps giving the notice that there are new files outside the mods, (although I updated them a minute before) or that the files are shared by different mods, making my extra hairstyles mod redundant because I installed a hide helmet hack and a Dalish Mage Origin. (Don't see the sense in that. They're Additional files right? So shared makes no sense.) On my first round, I installed the whole shebang with apparently no problems, and the DLC was recognised when I started the game, but when I started a new game, the quickest way to check if some mods were working, there was no Dalish Mage option, and no extra hairstyles.Deinstalled and removed all mods, for a fresh download, and when I didn't want to save the suggested 'merges' but 'restore' them, I got the old error "Vortex tried to access "C:/Users/[my username]/Documents/Bioware/Dragon Age/settings/AddIns.xml" but it doesn't exist."... And it still does. To be continued, and hopefully, fixed.
