KrazeeMan
Hey guys, I'm confused as to what exactly is causing this to happen? I have a lot of graphic enhancement mods for skyrim, but I'm still getting these irritating shadowy lines on my character's face and walls. Every 15 seconds the shadowy lines move. Does anyone know of a mod that will fix this issue? If anyone needs me to I can show them examples I just don't know to insert them into a thread. Here is an example of the shadowy lines on a wall inside Windhelm: Edited July 12, 2012 by KrazeeMan

Georgiegril
Shadow striping is what you've got. You can fix it, probably, but changing your fShadowBiasScale value in your prefs.ini. (Make sure to use the one in C: username/documents/mygames/skyrim not the one in the programs folder)You may need to play with it a bit to see where it works best for you. Mine's set at 0.50. There are some other shadow settings that can also help. Check out the geforce tweak guide for Skyrim, even if you don't have a Geforce card, it covers basic settings and .ini tweaks that can help anyone. Also there are a few mods out there that address this, though I haven't used them. Btw, if you post a question that no one answers, it may be that it has been covered a bunch already (although sometimes it's just so unique no one has a clue how to help). This topic has a bunch of threads already, and a forum search might have been the quickest way for you to get your answer. Hope this helps/! xoen
bump, since, there is NO solution that really works.(yes, i've read this topic: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/632874-still-no-fix-for-striping-outdoor-shadows/)it is ridiculous, that such problem is present, while practically nonexistent in ANY game with good shadows processing. also, let me ask, btw, is there ANY way for improving selfshadows(face, body etc)? Blaufrosch
I agree, seems theres no general solution. In my case (for my lowend amd gpu) ive edit the settings as follows: SkyrimPrefs.ini[Display]iBlurDeferredShadowMask=5fShadowBiasScale=1.6500 Skyrim.ini[DISPLAY]fSunShadowUpdateTime=0.10fSunUpdateThreshold=2.0 Of course, a matter of taste, but for me it seems to be better. Maybe for someone too.
