Deleted3507349User
In Oblivion, I preferred Redguards due to their general well-rounded-ness. In Skyrim it's become the Argonians...mainly due to waterbreathing. I've never been all that fond of magic outside of a healing spell, so magic-heavy races don't appeal much to me. scarycave
I prefer Khajiits or Argonians because I love being spit-on by these horrible people. Gives me a sense that I'm never safe. :)Having the royalty you just saved telling you her desire to remove all the Argonians from town or having that one guy tell you is Khajiit jokes while your a Khajiit is priceless. Deleted5045300User
This one is actually my Skyrim character, whose backstory involves contracting vampirism in Skyrim shortly after ending the Oblivion Crisis. Race: Dunmer. In Skyrim it was the perfect class for a Nightblade, and I just cannot pass up on a 75% resistance to fire, especially as almost all magic in Dagon's realm is fire-based. Really helps with the turret towers, and if I pass over a minefield completely oblivious to the fact that there's loads of bombs dotted about. Class: Nightblade. An assassin skilled in illusion magic is NOT to be trifled with. Birthsign: Thief. The bonus to Luck, Agility (?) and Speed (?) are great. I may have gone with the Shadow if playing as a normal assassin, but getting the invisibility spell from Mraaj'Dar would have rendered the Shadow bonus irrelevant. Gender: Female, just seems to work better with quick, nimble assassins. Edited November 7, 2012 by Guest
AnubisRaven
It depends really on what game it is. Since this is in the Oblivion forum, I'm obviously going to guess Oblivion, but I'll put down my stuff for all the games, just so you can see that there's something of a contrast. Oblivion: Race: Argonian or Dunmer. I can't really stand the look of any of the other races. I used to be a huge argonian player, but not so much anymore. I think I have a breton character, just for the magicka bonuses.Class: Mostly combat/stealth classes. I think Blade and Marksman are two skills that usually manage to make it in as major skills. Stealth is usually up there as well.Birthsign: Kind of whatever works for the character I'm trying to make. The Mage, the Warrior, and the Lady are probably the ones I use the most, even though they're not necessarily the best I could be using.Gender: For Oblivion, it really varies. I'm male, but that doesn't play a very large role in my selection of gender. It depends a lot more on what kind of character I'm trying to make. I usually have an idea in mind of what sort of back story my character will have, and then, since I have kind of an inner monologue when I play, I decide whether that monologue would be better if I was a male of female. I will admit though, part of it is sometimes looks. I'm very partial to beautiful Dunmer ladies. Skyrim: Race: I've played pretty much everything. I tend to favor Imperial, Nord, Argonian, and Altmer. On top of this, I'm partial to vampire characters.Class: I often find myself wishing that Skyrim had classes. It's so easy for me to get off track with my skills! I usually go for run of the mill Sword and Shield combat, though I'm trying to branch out and currently have a character who's focusing on Magic (something I've actually not really done in the past)Birthsign: I usually don't bother with the stones. If I find one and it fits the class, I go for it. I guess my most used is the warrior.Gender: Female. Almost without a doubt. I'll admit part of this is aesthetic, I like looking at a pretty face. Oddly enough, the male characters I end up playing usually tend towards a less well defined RP and go along with the whole Dragonborn quest and all, whereas my female characters tend to just do their own thing. Morrowind: I've played substantially less Morrowind than the other games, so I don't have as much info to go on here.Race: Currently I have a breton, but I've had an Argonian, a Dunmer, and an Imperial in the past.Class: I usually just make my own. My current guy is mostly Conjuration/Short Blade with some Restoration and Destruction thrown in for good measure.Birthsign: I honestly don't really remember. Probably like Oblivion, one of the basic stat-bonus one.Gender: Male for the most part. Not sure why this is. I do have a female dunmer, but apart from her, it's been all dudes. Anyway, sorry, I just realized I'm doing some pretty hardcore necromancy with this thread, but I think the question is interesting and I would definitely like to see it explored more. I guess as a question, to add more to the conversation, why do those of you who play mostly as your own gender do this? Is it simply because you can connect better with your character? scot
Morrowind, oblivion and skyrim Race: Vampire breton, don´t know why, my character it´s actually me thanks to facegen x) and it´s the same character in all three games since he´s a vampire (In morrowind one of my followers is the nerevarine so I just pretend to be his follower).Class: Warrior thief mage or something, I favor weapons but also use destruction magic when I´m out of arrows or I feel to do so, I also sneak when I have to.Birthsign: Shadow, because it was the most appealing since I first played morrowind.Gender: Male since I´m a male.
